Thanks for all of your advice Aaron - for as many times as you've been told to leave this forum because you're a moron, you actually have some good input. I'm lucky to have access to someone's ideas about the 3.4 TDC stuff when I'm using the TB from one. Anyway, I took 15 minutes and swapped UIM's y...

Headed to the race track for the day and when I get home I am going to swap out my UIM and 24 'lb injectors for the OEM UIM and 17's and see how it runs then...

I'm pretty sure that when the car died because the TB got blocked off, that was a good sign - it meant no serious vacuum leaks. What could the custom throttle cable bracket possibly have to do with a high idle and red-hot manifolds? The throttle cable, when attached to the TB cam on the side, has a ...

Are the two ports that we talked about earlier either blocked off, or leading to something other than atmosphere? They are constant vacuum ports, used for FPR, brake booster, EVAP, or PCV. They need to be sealed. Yes they are both currently blocked off completely. Try, while it's idling without an ...

The car finally set off an error code: 35 Idle Speed Error The ECM will set code 35 when the engine speed is 75 RPM above or below the correct idle with closed throttle. This condition must be met for at least 45 seconds before the code is set. If idle speed is too high, check for vacuum leaks. If i...

I suggest pulling the plenum and using the black, high temp rtv on the EGR port. The gasket didnt seal for me, resulting in a very high idle similar to yours. Put a thin layer on the plenum and the block off plate (assuming thats what is used) and sandwich the gasket between them. There is no EGR p...

This 4 minute long video is the first testing/diagnosis video that I have put together for Mr. Ryan Gick of Sinister Performance so that we can figure out the custom tune for my car:

Tomorrow I am going to work on this thing again and go to town with capping off all unnecessary vac ports and using some carb cleaner to check for leaks. One last piece of clarification however. This is how I have my UIM and LIM connected as far as vacuum lines go: http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y...

My idle is still really high - like 2,500 rpm but it eventually drops down to around 1,300 or so. My wideband says that I am running really rich and it spits out black smoke sometimes when I am trying to start it. My fuel pressure sits around 45psi all the time and as it is running it backfires ever...

How to test the oil pressure sensor?

My oil pressure gauge quit working and short of just replacing the gauge and starting the engine to see if that was the culprit, how can I test the factory sensor setup to see what is the problem? It sits directly to the right of the red bar at the left side of the gauge and does not move at all no ...

Here's another question, this time about the 3.4TDC TPS - What should idle/WOT voltage be? Mine sits at 0.8vdc at idle, and 3.9vdc at WOT, but when I use my hand to turn the cam all the way open it can read 4.35vdc. Is 3.9vdc an acceptable value for WOT? Also, does anyone know if Darth can reprogram...

I figured it out. Here is an image of my intake setup using the 3.4 TDC throttle body: http://www.westcoastfiero.com/intake/intake_gif/intake1_500.jpg I believe that the vacuum port on the right side of the TB ( "L" Shaped) is for the IACV. I plumbed the large LIM Vacuum port there before,...

maybe not... lol It would idle at around 3K right off the bat, and both exhaust manifolds were glowing red hot after about 4.5 minutes & shooting fire out of the open x-over pipe... I could only let it idle for around 5 minutes before I got too scared and shut it down. Fuel pressure is good up t...

Thanks for the help. The wiring for the TPS was identical and I just matched wire colors. However the wiring for the IACV was very much different. This is what I came up with based on my service manual and the OEM 3.4L TDC wire harness connector: 3.4 TDC - - 2.8 OHV A GRN/BLK - GRN/BLK B GRN/WHT - G...

3.4 TDC TB sensors question

I am working on wiring in the OEM sensors from a 3.4 TDC v6 into my stock Fiero GT wiring and the info that I got from WCF was ridiculously incorrect so far. Basically, I need to know wire colors and corresponding purposes of each wire so I can match it up with the Fiero harness. I need the wire pin...
