The bushings however will not, unless you swap the entire car over.

Re: Quad 4/Hybrid Swap For Fun Commuter?

what sort of mounting does your engine use? I think they changed it from 92+. the earlier ones used a hydraulic mount on the front of the block, and a rubber one with metal stoppers on the back under the water pump, and a suspended mount over the tranny. I think the 92" only use 1 engine mount,...

Re: How many AutoX?

I noticed you are getting much faster. Did you upgrade your tires? I see you are using the BK-7 rims now. They are lighter than the ASAs and should help you a little bit. Maybe by this weekend I will have my car back and can start racing. You will probably be much quicker than me this year. My turb...

How many AutoX?

How many people autocross? This will be my 3rd year autocrossing my Fiero, and I think I am getting to be competitive finally. The Fiero is not the greatest platform for this, but I have fun for it. I have a full poly suspension and cradle bushings, WS6 springs, with 1.5 coils cut front and rear, an...

Their soluion doesnt make sence? Oil drops on the manifold, which may ignite, then spread to a plastic wire cover nearby, so instead of stopping the oil, they are moving the plastic wire cover so the fire has nothing to spread to?

Re: Adapting a Q4 FWD trans for use with the Fiero 60 degree V6

That is a 93-94 Quad 4 tranny, and some 92's used the hyraulic bearing. The name this tranny carried in the quad 4 was a New Venture T550 or something along those lines, but it was a New Venture Tsomehing. From what I read, it is the same basic design as teh Getrag 282, but with diffrent synchros to...

Re: what do bad cradle bushings feel like?

When I forgot to tighten my cradle bushings and went for a spin up my parents driveway, it steered depending on throttle. Steered left under acceleration, and right when off the gas. I had a left rear a-arm bushing go bad on me too, it wasnt the bushing, but the steel insert, I could not for the lif...

Re: My second AutoX

A good drive in AutoX makes a huge difference. Last autoX I beat a 2008 Z06 Corvette 2 seconds, an 87 with a V6 by 10 seconds, and an 84 duke powered Fiero by 8 seconds.

Re: Quad 4/Hybrid Swap For Fun Commuter?

My first Quad 4 motor had 326,000KM on it, had the original head too. I spun a rod bearing after 10,000KM while reving it near redline on the highway, it burned no oil either. When we took it apart, it had about 1 thou wear on the cylinders, and the crank bearings were in good shape for wear. I thin...

For the year it was introduced, it had more horsepower than all of GM's V6 offerings, and alot of the SBC's. Heck, the top of the line 89 corvette had 245HP, only 55hp more out of 3.4L of extra displacement and 4 more cylinders.

Usually reccomended to go higher. When I had my P215/60R14 tires on my Fiero, I used to run them at the recommended 32PSI, max on the tire is 35, but I was told to bump them to at least 40-45. I ran them at 42 front, and 40 rear, and it made a huge improvment, I felt way faster and more responsive i...

Right now I just repack the incoming waste. I go through it and sort it out so it can be sent to the right disposal place (incineration, landfill, recycle, etc...), I do the more complex ones though like the flammable liquids (MEK, Methanol, Toluene, Halogenated Solvents, etc), and the other chemica...

Job offering

I just started a new job at the beginning of October, I work at the same place as my GF, it started out to be a tempory job to get some money, but I like it, and the bosses like my work, I am already doing the more technical stuff there. My boss is transferring to FtMcmurray at the end of this month...
