As per this: http://www.moog-suspension-parts.com/Un ... prings.asp
I've decided on the 5664 up front, and the CC659 out back.

Re: Off the deep end, for fun
tomorrow afternoon I'll be stopping on my way home, to pick up a pre-fab tail-tube. The one the ball-mount will slide into.
And I think the cross-tube will be 2.5" rather than the 3" I typed earlier.

Re: Off the deep end, for fun
No, I'm not using anything you can mail-order. First, on those rear subrame rails, I will put a pair of 12" lengths of 3" x 3" x 1/4" angle iron. Then across the tops of those I will set the 46.5" cross-tube of 3" x 3" x 1/4"-wall square mild-steel tube. This ...

Re: Off the deep end, for fun
Here are the first 3 pics. I'll upload more when my phone is re-charged. In this first pic, I'm standing on the left side of the car, near the rear, looking down on the top of the sub-frame-rail. Notice how I've scraped away all the glue so that the new steel can sit flat http://i1201.photobucket.co...

Re: Off the deep end, for fun
Progress! Removed the bumper cover and cut it, cut the plastic between the cover and the steel bumper, started cutting the steel bumper, ran out of blades, scraped all the glue over the seams everywhere I wanted my additions to touch the car, chiseled some spot-welded brackets off, and basically I c...

I wouldn't consider that even if you gave me one, plus $10K for fuel.
I might do a Cummins 5.9L 6BT.

Tomorrow the wheels are going on the left rear, then the sides are getting permanently discarded.
I'm seriously considering putting my 6.2 diesel and 700R-4 in this.

Re: Got it running today!
Looks like the end for my C-20 as I found me a dually! It's a '69 F350 but it can haul more, especially having a 10' flatbed. The rear axle is 7' behind the cab. No clue on the axle ratio, yet. But at this price, that's okay.

Re: Off the deep end, for fun
I checked again; putting the GN ball directly over the axle center won't work. It has to move back at least an inch. The spring centers are more like 2.5" back.
Maybe the solution is to use a much shorter torque arm? Jegs offers one, with or without an optional adjustability feature.

Re: The Top Gear Thread.
Out of extreme boredom Sunday I finally watched some more of the India special. I seem to have missed a middle bit where they modified the cars, but it's still a crappy disaster.

Re: 1985 AMC Eagle wagon build
According to the list of part numbers I've found for the Jeep T5's, they had the 4.03 first with 0.76 second using the 53/23 gearset. This means that I could substitute the 61/25 gearset and have 4.03 to 0.72. But you have to multiply the OD ratio by the input ratio to get the ratio of flywheel to ...

Re: Off the deep end, for fun
Thanks for the food for thought. There's no in-tank-pump in this tank. Never was, never will be. Just a brand-new strainer I installed a few months ago. Carbureted '84, remember? '87 was the only year that the carbureted 305 F-body twins had an electric pump in the tank. The ZZ4's legality isn't aff...

Re: 1985 AMC Eagle wagon build
The TR6060 really isn't any better than the T56 it's based on. The '93 Z28 with the standard 2.73:1 axle had a 3.36:1 first and the 2.07:1 second and a 0.62:1 sixth. The current Shelby Cobra combines a 2.97:1 first with a 1.78:1 second and the 0.50:1 sixth. Surely you can get the T56 to a wider spre...

Re: help me build a budget 350 TPI
Why didn't you just shoot me a PM? For your proposal, I'd go with the Lunati 54743LUN. Most HP with least hassles. Plan on a 3.73:1 axle for this cam. I have a HR 214/220-112 451/462 I'd trade you for your runners and lower intake with fuel rails. This cam likes a 3.23:1 or 3.42:1 as well. Those exh...
