Re: progress on the banshee...
I didn't read too much on your thread, so I don't know much about your setup or anything, but I had a similar issue early on in my 3.4 DOHC swap. When cold the motor would fire right up, but if it was warm it would not restart. For example go out to the car, cold start is just fine, and I drive it a...

3.4 DOHC cam timing tool and copper headgasket set
Hey guys, I've got a rubber-coated copper headgasket set (2) for the 3.4 DOHC. $150 shipped. I've also got an adjustable cam timing tool (Will also do stock cam timing). $100 shipped for that. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v336/AaronZ34/20161212_133246_zpslzurx8w6.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/...

Re: Do you "beat" on your car?
People associate "beating" on their cars as like, flooring them. By that definition I beat on my cars all of the time. But I take care of them, keep up on maintenance, upgrade failed components, and never let RPM's go above 2,000rpm until oil is above 160*. So in my eyes, I don't beat on m...

Re: I was told I would receive my own forum.
Like I said, arguably! Corn has a lot of benefits. Runs cooler, cheaper than low octane to run even accounting for 30% increase in consumption, and it's nearly impossible to detonate on. With the sensor and an ECU that can use it, like Shawn said availability is a non-issue. My car does not have the...

Re: I was told I would receive my own forum.
Let me ask you this, what's the downside to e85?
Range, and that's it.
It's cheaper to run than 85 octane, allows for about 100whp more, it's almost impossible to detonate on, runs cooler, and is (arguably) better for Murica.

Re: Mechanically adding a HPFP to my BMW, need gear reducer
What does the electronic control do? Just give pump RPM so that the DME can estimate fuel flow volume and command the appropriate duty cycle for the pressure control solenoid? Are the HPFP's output pulses synch'd to injection events so that the pump is always discharging when an injector is open? U...

I'd imagine you could probably float in water, considering the human body is nearly buoyant with just air filling the lungs.

Re: Mechanically adding a HPFP to my BMW, need gear reducer
As for that link, that's no bueno. First, to date, I think they have 1 of those shipped, and it has never functioned properly because the electronic control cannot be done through the OEM computer when it's overdriven. Their pump is turning roughly 8 times OEM pump speed. If they ever do figure out ...

Re: Mechanically adding a HPFP to my BMW, need gear reducer
It's about time you're done with this thread Shaun. Has it occurred to you that BMW reads, and logs, fuel pressure before and after the HPFP? You think I haven't checked this? I cannot overdrive the OEM pump, for 2 reasons. First, I wouldn't want to given the questionable reliability of the pump eve...

Re: Mechanically adding a HPFP to my BMW, need gear reducer
What is the flow rating of the factory lpfp in lph? I see upgrades to a 255lph walbro. The factory is less than a 255? I thought I made it clear this was a HPFP issue. In case I did not, this is a HPFP issue. nobody makes a higher capacity pump? it doesn't look too complicated, way less complicated...

Re: Mechanically adding a HPFP to my BMW, need gear reducer
I'm pretty set on belt drive, and either way will have over 3/4 pulley wrap. I don't anticipate slipping problems, maybe ignorantly, but I don't. If I run an auxiliary belt I can just increase ribs, or go cogged, if it's an issue. I don't want to build my own reduction set, I'd rather outsource that...

Mechanically adding a HPFP to my BMW, need gear reducer
My BMW 335i has an upgraded low pressure fuel pump (LPFP), which is able to hold 65-75psi on e85 for a lot more horsepower than I'm making. The fuel lines and injectors can easily support quite a bit more power than I'm making. The weak spot is the high pressure fuel pump (HPFP), the same one that h...

I legitimately pushed my car in the turns at a SCCA event once. And I probably won't ever do that again. It was horrific.

Re: progress on the banshee...
I doubt the gauge or sender is bad, just too coincidental with all the other issues you've been having with the system. How much power is it putting down. I am (Should be?) putting down much more and don't have any traction issues. In fact my car normally hooks in 1st gear unless it's a hard launch....
Re: FS: 88GT 5 speed w/ 20k miles and LOTS of additional goo
I'll do it. No way in hell would I pay $6K for a roller. I can buy a better built Japanese car for $2k complete. That's not even relevant. You can buy a worse built Japanese car for $10,000 complete to, that doesn't mean anything because this isn't a Nissan GTR or some other car, it's a Fiero, so w...

Re: My NEW turbo setup
I know it's kind of, a little bit, apples to oranges, but how do the OEM plenums stay together? Mine is just molded plastic, looks identical to the N/A ones, and carries 21psi daily. Others are running the same plenum up to 30.

You talk more shit than anyone, and post less proof than anyone. I'm not demanding any, I couldn't care less what your car makes, but for all the crap you talk about others not having track times, dynoes, videos, photos, etc, one would think you'd be ready to show em up. And yet we get a, yes a sing...

Nice pic. You're not intercooled, you don't have clamps on your charge pipes, your BOV isn't hooked up...
