Are you saying that the GM spec for inside the rod is 2.1247? What I have says 1.9987-1.9994. The bore in the rod may be 2.1247, but that's the journal size PLUS twice the thickness of the bearing insert. The V6 and early, small journal Chevies have the same size journals... Should just need to have...

Designing strut blocks; need measurement
I'm finally sitting down at the keyboard to design the strut blocks I've been meaning to design forever... The trouble is, my car is pulled pretty far apart, so I can't take the one measurement I need to see how feasible this is. Ok, a strut block is like what they made for the Fiero dragster... it ...

If you die, can I have your engine block? At least you have aluminum heads on it... Not quite a 4point9... Yeah, I'll get pictures... may take a bit, though. I've got a four day weekend with two job interviews over 2 hours away and Navy reserve drill four hours away... It's not quite that simple... ...

What kind of engines are they considering? A highly tuned engine could do that. It's not that hard getting a Chevy to 80% VE. Also, compression ratio figures in... Going by specific torque, a low compression engine will have higher VE than a high compression engine of the same specific torque. Dunno...

i updated teh T3 super60 map and plotted another T4, both with the 2.8 and 6k redline. note: even with the pessimistic VE, the T3 compressor still falls off the map at redline. I will do some 3.4 plots next. This is nothing special. With the formulas I provided or excel spreadsheet, anyone can do t...

This is a dyno of my 88 Formula. This was the setup I was going to run Earl(he has a Peice of shit swap) with but he pussed out. Prob better that he did too. Test was in third gear. It does 190 whp hp in 4th gear but I dont' have a sheet for that. Here: http://www.shaun.saturnet.net/pics/Fiero%20en...

Torque is a direct result of combusting mixture with an engine's cylinders. In a given engine, torque is directly proportional to VE. An engine will pull peak VE at peak torque RPM. If torque is 75% of peak at a certain RPM, then the VE at that RPM is 75% of the VE at peak torque RPM. IOW, you can e...
