This is definately one of those "higher-dollar" swaps. The ARP stainless fasteners and AN fittings really ran the cost of this project up. However, that is what the customer requested and that is what was used. Notice my signature coolant fill point over by the right strut tower -- no ugly Fiero T-stat housings used here. Another first was the coil pack / 2bar MAP sensor / heater hose mounting bracket that I made. It neatly mounts to the stock battery tray. The stock 3800 dog bone bracket was welded to the tensioner from the same engine. A custom built (by me) alternator bracket mounts the 2001 GTP alternator to the stock 3800 P/S pump location.

Extra care was taken with this swap because of the low mileage of the car. The owner requested the swap be done so the vehicle could be seamlessly reswapped back to the stock 2.8 V6 in the event the value of a low-mileage, bone stock Fieros went thru the roof in the future. Pretty much every aspect of this swap was plug-and-play with the stock hookups of the Fiero so it could easily accept the stock powerplant if that was ever desired.

Good question. The owner did the paint work himself and also bought a lot of the parts used in the swap before it got to me so I don't have a complete total cost of the swap. If I were to guess a dollar figure if you were to pay someone else to do EVERYTHING like it was done here; you are probably looking at $10,000 minimum.

And he can spell Torsen.

Is that just a resurfacing of one of the few remaining?

I guess since he's concerned about mileage he won't be driving the car enough to blow the diff up any time soon.

The owner purchased the diff some time ago and yes, I believe it was one of the units that "resurfaced". If I remember what I was told correctly, the owner gave over $1000.00 for just the diff.
