I'm not sure about this but if you replaced the frame with chromoly(yea I bet I mispelled that) it would probably save you more weight and be cheaper. Unless you make the carbon fiber body panels yourself, but if you could weld, you could build the frame yourself, offsetting the saveings on the carbon fiber. But while your building your frame you could put you a rollcage in.

Holy shit dude, you need to read up on lowlux's threads. This fucker can't put on a belt, lets not jump to welding. That could end poorly, or hilariously, depending on how you look at it.
