What were you doing before to get your dick up? Imagining an LSx powered Ferrari F40, cause it seems everything in the worls should have an LSx according to you  . The reason Levi got rid of the V8 ready RX7 is because it would have just been a car with a LSx in the front, instead of an RX-7 with a rotisserie engine.

LOL thanks. They are ultra rare, especially the black ones which are forged magnesium. They are not everyone's taste but they are correct for an A-Spec FD.

That's the car. I have those pics on my phone :)

I will have to weigh the rims, they are 17x8 and 17x9. I'll likely go 235-245 fronts and 255-265 rears. Not super wide but I'll put something sticky on there like Star Specs or Azenis.

Aaron, you are the only person in this thread without taste haha. What's not to like about an old school A-Spec FD?

BTW, have a line on that wing too.

Not exactly the mazdaspeed wing, but a very close look alike by Racing Beat. Next to impossible to find the real deal, but if I do see one come along i'll likely buy it and install it.

According to a guy on a Rotary board they are about 8kg, so about 17.5lbs. Not bad for the design of the rim, there is a lot of metal there.

That's what magnesium will do for you... Just don't get them too hot ;)

Looks like they have hella caliper clearance, too. Funny how knowing little things like that makes the car in the pic look fantastically hardcore.

You know, I would BUT in season 4 when the car goes to this style they don't have that sticker anymore. In season 1 and 2 they do but his car looks like my car does now except yellow in those seasons.

You can buy those stickers on e-bay if you do a search. I'd be tempted to get them made with red magnets so I could take them on and off quickly just for fun :-D

Been working on the RX7 lately so I thought I would update this thread

I bought a set of tires for my MS-02 rims and mounted them. The center caps are missing in these pics but you get the idea
Image

Image

A couple weeks ago I started working hard on the RX7. I pulled the engine *again* and took it apart to see what was wrong with it. The rear rotor and housing was trashed. The original motor had a bad front rotor and housing. So a couple weeks ago I brought them both to work and pieced together a good engine out of 2 bad ones. Luckily all the irons were in good shape, I thought the apex seals would have done some damage but nope.

This was when I was piecing them together. The engines themselves are so simple, but everything attached to them is a nightmare. The "rats nest" of vaccuum lines is insane...

Image

So I dropped off the engine to a local Rotary expert for him to put them together properly. I bought Rotary Aviation Super Seals which are "unbreakable". It's true, nobody had broken them that I'm aware of, so the Achilles heal of the rotary has been mostly solved.

So, maybe in a week or 2 I will have another update when the car is up and running. Already plan on getting the A-Spec bumper installed in the spring and the car painted yellow. This has been an enjoyable project. The rotary engine is neat to take apart and look at. Such a simple design.

Best. Car. Ever.

Just got the new super seal 13B with a street port put back into my car and all I can say is wow. I don't understand why people put an LS in this car if there is a fix for the only weakness the car has.

Full boost at 2000rpm all the way to redline thanks to the sequential turbos. This is officially the most fun I've ever had with a car. I'm guessing it's no more powerful than my Northstar Fiero but the way the power comes on is completely different. When the second turbo kicks in at 5000rpm it's like another kick in the back, love it.

New engine going in. MS-02 wheels with center caps, looks much better.

Well, the next update will be spring. Snow will likely be on the ground in under a month. Received my Mazdaspeed wing in the mail, officially have all the parts needed to complete my Initial D FD.

Because the LS1 would have been cheaper, more powerful, more reliable, more economical, and probably lighter as well.

I had an LS1 ready car. The cost of the kit, engine, transmission etc etc would have been about 10k. This built engine that will take all the power I would want to make cost $3500.

I'm glad to see it back up and running! Have you made any cooling mods? I plan on doing the Mazmart waterpump and t-stat upgrade before next year. I know they make one for the FD as well...

Thanks, yes have done some cooling mods. That Megan radiator in front of my hood is in the car, and mine came with the factory twin oil coolers. All i need now is a larger intercooler and I'm set cooling wise.

I got to drive an FD for a weekend a couple of years ago. It was a stock engine with upgraded radiator/intercooler. I want to say it had 4.30 gears. It was pretty quick and felt wild when it came up on boost.
