I still have mine, doesn't bother me. until I am at a road course where I can't go all out on a straight or going faster than that at the 1/4 mile I will keep it.
All Japanese cars also have a chime at 100km/h. It will keep ringing until you are below 100km/h. Usually one of the first things to be removed from the car.
