I can't, I work this weekend unfortunatly.

Will, you ran a 12.8 with 255 correct? Any guesses how quick 280whp would be in the 1/4?

That's with an automatic trans, right? If so, I's say it'll eat around 20%.

Nice! With some headers or a really nice exhaust you'll be up at 300 with me no prob.

depending on launch will determine your et. But you might be able to hit a 12.5 Trap would probably be around 108-110. for bone stock thats quick. Lots of room to improve.

No he has a manual.. . Loss is 10-15%.

The 4T80 sucks up like 25 or 30%.

Yeah, one person did a negative HP dyno test... 211-215 FWHP, 86hp drivetrain losses, 297-301hp crank (so pretty accurate I guess)... 29% loss.

Makes my 256whp seem awesome-r. I can say "I have 360hp" and almost pass muster. :blah5:

Some headers and an aluminum flywheel will really wake it up. I imagine I would also do cams as well. 350-375whp would be great.

ITB + cam + headers FTW

If fieromadman can get 250whp out of a 3.4 with just cams..... 350 from a N* shouldn't be that hard either. With ITBs you can run a huge cam and not have to deal with lope (I hate lope)

Using the general rules of thumb of 10 HP per .1 sec and 1 mph I would guess what Shaun did: 12.5@109.
I ran a 1.92 short time, which we know that stick Fieros can beat. With a 1.8 I don't see why a 12.3 or 12.4 would be out of reach.

In a fiero it isn't bone stock anymore...

those were all 300hp northstars.

I don't know whose dyno charts those are.

Chris moore used the 4t80, and the factory gm computer when he put in his nstar. I am pretty sure he used the factory airbox. Only difference would be the shorter exhaust. He didn't do any computer tweaking as far as performance goes.

I am pretty sure his car dynoed 240 when mr fiero dynoed it. So yea I guess its not 100% stock since its in a caddy, but other then the shorter exhaust I think what chris did makes it damn close.

""you think""

and you're ""pretty sure"" a lot

why not get facts straight before you post... I know your car makes 770 WHP and beats low flying stealth bombers...but we all can't be as cool as you

ask him

northstar87@hotmail.com

he has a howell harness , factory ECM , no mufflers just cats.

His car ran mid 13's with the TSW VX1's and Low 13's with smaller wheels.

it has 75 or so K on the conversion alone... He calls it his parts runner.

BUT THERE'S SHAUN ..MAKIN ASSUMPTIONS!!!

NOTHING BEATS a 3.4TURBO ..NOTHING..

I can't wai ttil shaun posts that he beat a new Z06 or GTR.

oh bull. Even a full-built, high line pressure 700R4 with a 3000+ stall converter only eats 22% between the engine and the tires, with a Ford 9" axle running non-synthetic lube. . I'm not believing 30, even for a FWD transaxle.

Especially for a FWD transaxle, because it doesn't have the hypoid bevel gearset chewing up power. That's why I think the 282 is less than 10% loss at higher power levels.

Loss as a percentage usually goes down as throughput goes up, though.

Jon, what the hell are you talking about?

Ok so he is using a factory ecm, and no cats. What else did he do? Either way the car dynoed 240 whp. Thats 20%. Thats all I am saying. Drivetrain loss on that is about 20%

Take your 4 year old blown headgasket nstar swap, that hasn't rolled under its own power since I was in diapers and blow my wang.

$500 for a set of cams and an afternoon I could have another 75+hp. It almost makes me want to keep my fiero to play around with it some more.

Nobody in the fiero world has swapped cams on a N* yet that I'm aware of? I'd like to see a before and after dyno. I might just have to do it just to put down some big numbers. 350+whp from a naturally aspirated 279ci V-8 would be pretty cool.
