Free flow exhaust for my pickup

Post by p8ntman442 »

My 88 F-150 dump run truck/home depot run truck was being used for getting to the commuter lot where I carpool from until i fixed the clutch in my DD. Yesterday somebody decided that my exhaust was too quiet and restrictive. They crawled under my truck and cut out that bothersome Catalytic converter for me free of charge.

I filed a police report, but obviously dont expect anything to happen.

This is part of why I lower my truck. Until the engine runs the compressor to inflate the airbags, no way anyone can get a jack under anything solid, let alone a saw.

We've had people stealing shit out of our metal dumpster at work lately, been a major problem everywhere it seems.

That sucks. Lots of people stealing converters up in the Bay Area too.

I was going to suggest that you lower your truck...

That does suck. I had somebody steal four mid-80's Jaguar wheels out of my parents front yard a few years ago. They can't have taken them for aynthing more than (at that time) $30 in scrap.

Your parents keep car wheels in their front yard?

Are they decorative? like lawn Gnomes? :la:

Mine would be pretty tough to get at, I would think. It's right off of the turbo as part of the downpipe. I will be lowering it soon as well, but it sucks that people can profit from that kind of theivery.
My Fiero is now a Finale. The end.

A cordless sawzall is one of the most deadly weapons you can get easily.
You'll take mine when you pry it from my cold dead hands.

They do the job when the travelocity gnome is... travelocitying.

I found them in a junkyard and snagged them for my dad. They were only in the yard a day or two.

Well, I confirmed that the my truck did have 2 cats, the one in front of the one they cut off, I wasnt sure if it was a cat or just a muffler. So the theif cut off one cat and left the other, which would have been just as easy to take.

As for lowering the truck, the extend of suspension work this 88 f-150 is getting is the chain around the spring shackle so the spring dosent go through the bed when I haul shingles to the dump.

Anyways, the truck now has manifold down to the remaining CAT, and then into a 5 foot long muffler off an 80's cab over semi, into a resonator off a volkswagen passat.

pretty much what was left in the scrap pile behind the shop.

sounds good too.

lots of torch work and ball peen hammer manipulation so it could be welded.

custom hangers too.

Sweet. My brother has 2 1/2 full size broncos that are dead, I'm sure he'd love to get rid of stuff if there's anything you need, they have lots of interchangeable parts.
