Pretty sure you'll need a permit if it's gonna be in a public space. Rage against the Machine had an impromptu bullhorn concert here during the RNC but got shut down pretty quick...

Call your city Police Department, they will know. But you will probably need to talk to 20 people before you find a straight answer. You'd be better off finding an Officer and asking him/her, they know the ordinances/laws better than the call-takers.

Didn't think I'd ever type this but: I agree with what Aaron said...Ask a Police Officer, they may know.

It's easier to ask forgiveness then to ask permission.

Are you just walking around blaring on it, or you taking part in a demonstration, or coaching little league? I imagine what you want to use it for would have a lot to do with whether it would be a public nuisance or not.

Although I generally agree, not when it comes to Law Enforcement, because they don't forgive, they punish.

You are right about the second part. From what I can tell about Diggity, it isn't going to be for coaching little league. So I'd ask permission.

Type "[city name] noise ordinance" into Google. Most municipalities have the full text of their laws online nowadays.

That's not a bad idea at all.

However, know that there are other portions of the law that cover what he's doing as well (Disturbance, mainly).

Asking permission is for subservient and obedient peasants.

Asking permission is for people who don't like to get butt fucked by Rocko in the pen.

It isn't the cops job to punish, it's to enforce laws. Punishment is for the courts.

Why wouldn't Diggity coach little league?

Ok fair enough. The whole process is "Law Enforcement" though.

As I said, I'm just assuming it isn't for such a purpose. He wouldn't be asking if it was.

I'm going into Philadelphia, alone, without a group, and I'm going to stand on the sidewalk in front of the Constitution Center, and literally repeat, over and over again.

"You aren't free"

While handing out DvD's

I'm sure I'll be saying some other choice things too.

I would put it on a boombox instead. People tend to associate bullhorns with teargas. Plus your message can still play on autoreverse while you are getting beaten by the pigs.

I'll take one of your CD's, though.
