V6 Poly Dog Bone

Stock mount is shot.

I have one. Its a stock mount with poly bushings installed. Came from an 86 GT. Want pics?

I don't see why it wouldnt' work on an 87. If it doesn't send it back.

I tried doing center to center on the holes and its close but not exact.

3.91 inches or 99.3mm

:scratch: It is either I'm way off, or you are. I measured mine, and I got 4 and 1/2. Maybe I'll go recheck tomorrow...

Either that or the rubber is so bad its flexing an extra half inch haha.

The stock one that came off my '88 was about 3.9 inches long. I put a new one on from Autozone for $6.49 that is about 4.75 inches long, worked just fine. If you wanted the cheap and easy fix ($6.49 is a pretty hard to beat price!) here's my receipt:

Every single one I've put in a fiero I had to pull the engine towards the strut tower a little to get the bolts in.
IIRC someone else on here was talking a couple months ago about the fact that there were actually several different OE part #'s for the V6 dogbone, all different lengths....
hence why Rodney has his adjustable one, and WCF tells you to measure center to center and they send you one the right length.

The factory dogbone holes are SLOTTED. The bushings move back and forth in the aluminum about 3/4" at EACH end. The factory bushings act as cushions when the engine gets near the ends of of its "torsional travel".

Are you talking internal to the dog bone or referring to the chassis mounting points? If you're talking internal to the dog bone, I don't understand what that has to do with the price of rice in China or anything in this thread.

Yeah, I mean thats great info and all, but GM still produced the Fiero with 5 TOTAL different length dogbones - yes, that includes the 4 cylinder as well

4.00"
4.25"
4.50"
4.75"

and the 4 cylinder which I never bothered to measure

All distances were based upon hole center to hole center distance, and to the best of my memory

Because bushings can appear to be all sorts of places in the slot.
