Fiero heads and intake on 3100/3400

Post by Gooch »

I am not sure if this belongs here, RTF vs the World, or where.
I want to know why the hell people do this?
I was reading about this on Old Europe and it looks like MUCH more work and $ than installing a 3100/3400 and you end up with a less powerful, less efficient engine.
Anyone care to shed some light for me?

My understanding was so they could run the fiero wiring, wiring is like the chupacabra on Old Europe, they all run and hide at the sound of its name. Fiero intake and heads allows you to retain the stock exhaust, stock fuel injection system, stock intake (airbox), etc. Which defeats the point of a 3100/3400, just do a 3.2 stroker or 3.4SFI and not spend the time for the 3400/3100.

That's was my thinking....why not just do a iron-head 3.4?
3400 with a '7730 swap...just can't be as expensive as having custom pushrods, machined guideplates, new pistons, etc...

Wrong again, I support the 3.8 swaps.
