So I'm registered for Pinks All Out

Post by AkursedX »

July 10-11 at US 131 Dragway in Martin, MI. I registered this morning. It sold out in 3 minutes! I really don't even know what times I'll run since my turbo isn't done yet, but maybe I'll get lucky and they'll pick a slower group (11.0-11.5 is probably near what I'll be able to run).

As far as I know, I'll be the first Fiero running there and I figure that my car is at least different enough that I at least have a good chance of getting on tv.

Oh the turbo will be done soon. I'm just worred about getting everything dialed in before that. I'd like to be able to run a consistent time, whatever it is, by the event. I'm hoping that time will be somewhere between an 11.0 and an 11.5. We'll see.

That sounds like good timing for a short vacation... I might be able to make it.

Hell yeah, the more the merrier! I'm pretty sure Ryan is coming and I'm hoping to get dave from triple edge too.

It's be awesome to have a big crew, especially if I were miraculously able to make it into the round of 16.

HELL YEA! ALL OR NOTHIN BABY!

Um, actually no, this is a money race.

400ish entries go out and make 2 ALL OUT passes, then they pick 16 of them to do a down and dirty bracket race until one guy is left. Usually they pick 16 that are really close to a set time, like 10.0, or 11.5, or 9.0, and they feel they will make for good tv, and run SUPER consistently ect, aka the fiero wouldnt make it even if it was dead nuts in the selected ET range (unless your beyond lucky, but hey it could happen I guess).

Its not about negotiation, or anything, its basically about just having a barely faster car than all the others, and running ungodly consistent for 6-8 passes.

I think they kick you out if you run slower than a 12, a GTP guy got laughed out 2 years in a row because he thought he could roll with the big dogs running 12.3s. It could be consistent, but just turd slow.... I tried racing him when i was spraying, but he wouldnt do it... he was WAY scared.

Awesome man! If you need people with L67 fieros to stand around but not be helpful I'd be up for the 5 hour drive. Fiero will probably be a big suprise up there.

I'm still pissed off about that. I live 10 min from the track and was going to register but was in Chicago for training for work and forgot all about it. Damn it.

I ended up not being able to get the weekend off for this. I sold my spot to Matt M from ZZP. He ran the Twin-turbo 3800 GTP there, but he nuked a cylinder head on the 2nd pass.
