Regardless if what you think of the Japanese whaling in this day and age:
- First off, what kind of art-fag boat name is "Ady Gil"?
- How hard were the employees of the boat yard that built that thing laughing when the client wasn't looking? Are they still laughing now?
- For failure to yield the right of way to a much larger vessel, and causing an accident due to recklessness or intentional action, should they be punished? Or just ordered to pay for repainting the Japanese ship?
Discuss.

That boat looks badass, but the fuckers on it should drown.

Why did it have wings? Does it double as the Bat Wing?
It looks like they'd been pulling the same shit earlier too.

Looks to me like the Cap'n thought they were going to try crossing in front again.

http://www.seashepherd.org/news-and-med ... 020-1.htmlDue to its speed capabilities, up to 50 knots, Captain Paul Watson (Sea Shepherd President and Founder) intends to use the Ady Gil to intercept and physically block the harpoon ships from illegally slaughtering whales.
Says Captain Watson, “We’re very excited that the Ady Gil will be joining the Steve Irwin in Antarctica this campaign. With these two ships, we will mount the most ambitious and aggressive effort to date to obstruct the slaughter of the whales in the Southern Ocean.”
Says Chuck Swift, Deputy CEO in charge of ship’s operations, “The Ady Gil gives us the speed necessary to catch and stay with the Japanese whaling fleet. We are very optimistic that with these two ships, and some other surprises, we will shut down whaling in the Antarctic Whale Sanctuary.”

Looks like it went to Davy Jones locker while they were towing it - it'll serve a better cause as an artificial reef, I think. http://www.stuff.co.nz/dominion-post/na ... -Gil-sinks
LOLOLOL: "The Japanese harpoon vessels stayed close by but offered no assistance at any time." You know, call me crazy, but if that thing had spent all day trying to foul my props with rope, throwing jars full of acid at my crew, and shining lasers magnitudes of order beyond eye safe at deck crew, and finally choosing to ram my ship out of malice, or even incompetence, I might find myself strangely unable to receive calls for help either?
After a good look at the video from the deck of the Maru, it appears to me that the Gil was at idle (no prop wash, no wake) and would have cleared if she stayed put. They had absolutely no business recklessly approaching a much larger, less maneuverable vessel that closely to begin with. Right at the last moment, prop wash kicks up and the Gil proceeds forward into a terminal collision course. It looks absolutely like the skipper of the Gil pushed both throttles forward, either out of aggression, or because they panicked and didn't know what they were doing.

wow... environmental terrorism at its finest. Somali pirates are more competent than that.

And of course they eco-assholes won't see any wrong with their boat lying on the bottom leaking fuel and other petrolium based lubricants into ' their precious waters'.

The article said that they were able to get the fuel off...
And that makes the whole thing OK, right?
