Put that on ebay, people here all already own cars we're too buried in money wise and the cheaper bastards on Old Europe will never pay $18,000 for a car.
Very nice car.

Why the hell did NonGoggleGuy build it if he's just gonna sell it? If you build it, either build it to a customer's specs, or build it to your own specs and drive it yourself for the rest of your life.

Re: 1986 FIERO COUPE WITH LS4 V8
There are so many cars I'd like to build that I wouldn't be able to drive them all.
Re: 1986 FIERO COUPE WITH LS4 V8
+1, but add motorcycles into that equation, too.
Nice car, GLWS. I'm glad these are becoming more popular swaps. With mods to make more power up high (and, so, less torque down low), they'd make an even more awesome Fiero engine.

Building the torque out is a damn poor substitute for controlling your right foot. Plus with an automatic, there's more need for more torque. Improving low-rpm tq improves MPG.

Me too. But I'll get a lot closer if I can build them for others. No other way to ever fund it all, short of winning a multi-million dollar lottery. But if you build and keep 30 cars, you can drive another one every day each month. The real problems are the parking, and finding rotating insurance. The Dark Side of Will wrote:There are so many cars I'd like to build that I wouldn't be able to drive them all.
Re: 1986 FIERO COUPE WITH LS4 V8
Why would you swap in a V8 if you want gas mileage?
If you're doing it for the 'best of both worlds' then yeah, leave your LS4 stock with its slushbox. Get your poor V8/4 gas mileage with your mediocre powerband, and your ability to roast rubber all day to impress all the sexah redneck ladies.
I was talking about a great V8 sportscar engine in a car in which you own full shifting control. Then again (someone will say it anyway), just go buy a sportscar instead.
You win.

flip that around. now it reads: "if you swap in a v8 you will want better gas mileage"

Re: 1986 FIERO COUPE WITH LS4 V8
Northstar returned 23 highway mpg going 85+ with a lousy tune. Slowing down to VA speeds got me 25 mpg.
19 around town, same as a Corvette.
Only time I felt I needed better mileage was on road trips with cars that had bigger tanks.

Re: 1986 FIERO COUPE WITH LS4 V8
My (at least, others with identical ones, heh) 312hp 6-spd manual Camaro knocks down 34mpg on an easy highway cruise, and has a 19 gallon gas tank. Northstar Fiero what? :p If I were healthy and rich, I'd be swapping an LLT into my Fiero regardless of how difficult it'd be.
Darnit, sorry for the threadjack. I hope you sell that sweet LS4 Fiero for the $$$ you want!

Re: 1986 FIERO COUPE WITH LS4 V8
Heck, my '95 Z28 conv. averaged just over 22 mpg at 80-85 mph across Wyoming. And that was with a loose converter that wouldn't lock up. and the top up. And a dirty air filter.
Re: 1986 FIERO COUPE WITH LS4 V8
Weak sauce, my 350TPI 6-speed IROC-Z (before the turbo setup and with my 'spot on' $8D tune), on a highway trip through a mountain range and in traffic with lots of shifting averaged 27.5 mpg at around 70-75mph. HAH! (I was actually going for best mileage that trip, though. Still, it surprised me)
I bet this sweet LS4 Fiero for sale could beat that in the same conditions, though.
