The Tony Kania Project

Post by Chris-Nelson »

In late 2009 we at Top Line Group Automotive put out the call to the Fiero community that we wanted to sponsor a Fiero owner and their car. People sent in their applications for the contest and one lucky Fiero owner was named the winner right before the new year.

The deal was simple. Advertise for the company, send us lots of pictures, and you get free stuff for one year!

The amount of free product that was given to the sponsorship winner reached nearly $2,000 in retail value - definitely a good deal for anyone who may win our sponsorship contest in the future!

The name of the man who won the contest is Tony Kania, from Spokane, Washington! He won our contest due to his ability to take nice pictures of his car, where his car looked very neat, clean, presentable and classy. Also his ability to convey himself properly in online communication looked very strongly in his application. After a phone interview he was finally chosen to be the 2009/2010 TLG-Auto.com spokesperson for the Pontiac Fiero community.

Why the Fiero you ask? Top Line Group Automotive was founded on the production of unique and creative Fiero accessories and upgrades. Our largest clientele base continues to be Fiero owners and we are continuing every month developing more and more Fiero products to be set for sale.

Some of the newest products to look forward to are Gauge cluster LED replacements, center shift console LED replacements, double throttle body performance intake manifold and LED tail light replacements!

Tony's namesake and pictures of his car have been used heavily in TLG-Auto.com advertising this year and to end it all we have this story to post here and a special surprise in about 2 weeks. But for now we'll go step by step into the Tony Kania project.

Sit back, relax and see how an average Fiero enthusiast helped TLG-Auto.com become the fastest growing and most complete lighting upgrade and accessory superstore for the Pontiac Fiero!

What we'll do to showcase this project is go over each individual product that Tony received in this agreement and show you how to purchase it yourself. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask, PM or email sales@TLG-Auto.com for details!

1. Center Console subwoofer box - LEVEL 2!
http://www.tlg-auto.com/Fie...oofer-Kit-Lvl-2.html

We manufacturer these in house to order. They are available in a variety of OEM color matching colors of carpet and vinyl, and custom options as well.

Tony took an interesting approach to this product in order to make it look a little more stealthy he wrapped grill cloth over the face.
This product replaces the factory center console door and compartment and provides a sealed enclosure to add that much needed bass to your car along with some very nice styling!

2. The Stealth Wing Stands:
http://www.tlg-auto.com/Fie...lth-Wing-Stands.html

The stealth wing stands are one of our favorite custom-developed products for the Fiero available! This piece is manufactured to order, built out of fiberglass reinforced polyurethane casting resin and is a perfect fit for any year or style Fiero!

Image

The stock Fiero wing is seated on stands that are about 3.5" tall. This is a plug and play kit that replaces your stock stands and gives your car a more sleek and aggressive look. These new stands will drop your factory wing down closer to the decklid and back a few inches.

This kit mounts to your Fiero (any year/body style) at the factory mounting points on the decklid AND is designed to attach to the original mounts on your factory rear wing! This kit is truly plug and play. All you have to do is paint it to match your car.

3. Triple Gauge Panel for Rally Gauges Replacement
http://www.tlg-auto.com/Fie...ple-Gauge-Panel.html

The OEM Fiero rally gauges (auxiliary) found in the GT models is inaccurate at best and common to failure. We have a CNC'd aluminum solution available for mounting 52mm aftermarket gauges in the OEM spot but allows you to have 3 gauges instead of the stock 2.

Again, Tony added his own custom touch by painting the piece black instead of showing off the bare aluminum coloring.

He installed a set of aftermarket gauges, wired them and did the install. Our adapter plate does not come with gauges. Due to the high availability of gauges and your own personal preference they are sold separately:

4. C6 Corvette Exhaust Tips
http://www.tlg-auto.com/Fie...C6-Exhaust-Tips.html

The C6 exhaust tips are an incredible original GM design made of stainless steel with built-in resonators. These exhaust tips look absolutely stunning when installed on any year Pontiac Fiero, and many other vehicles.

These tips feature a 2" - 2.25" inlet ID(Depending on how they are cut for installation) and 3" OD x2 outlet - slanted tip.

These tips are hard to find as most corvette owners will usually replace the entire exhaust system and either throw the whole thing away or sell the factory setup as a whole.

We work with local sources to get a hold of as many sets of these exhaust tips as possible to provide them to our customers.

OEM Corvette exhaust tips are better than cheap aftermarket pieces because they are built to factory regulation specifications and are designed to hold up to abuse and last a long time.

These exhaust tips are not available brand new from ANYWHERE! We do our best to get them in like new condition, but it is a used product market.

Same tips installed on other Fieros:

Simply the best looking tip for the Fiero hands down!

5. LED Dome Light Kit
http://tlg-auto.com/Fiero/F...e-Light-LED-Kit.html

6. LED Floor Light Kit
http://tlg-auto.com/Fiero/F...r-Light-LED-Kit.html

My favorite LED mod that we do for the Pontiac Fiero is upgrading the interior lighting not with just some basic replacement LED bulbs, but with huge 10-LED downfiring circuit boards!

Ever wished you could see more inside your car at night?

Image

Now you can! We use 4 LED Circuit boards for the overhead light and 1 for each side under the dash for the floor lighting:

7. LED Trunk Light
http://www.tlg-auto.com/Fiero/Fiero-Tru ... vel-2.html

The light bulb in the Fiero trunk is kind of odd. We had to do a lot of digging to come up with a product that would be a direct fit replacement for this bulb and we now have two! The level 1 and level 2 bulbs give you options for different light output that matches your budget!

8. Rear license plate LED lights:
http://www.tlg-auto.com/LED-Lighting-Up ... grade.html

The OEM Fiero license plate bulbs (Or any license plate bulbs for that matter...) are dingy and make your Fiero look old.

We have an upgrade package that gives the rear of your Fiero a vibrant and updated look:

9. Level 2 HID Headlight Conversion using OEM Style "E-Code" Housings
http://www.tlg-auto.com/Fiero/Fiero-Lev ... n-Kit.html

When upgrading your headlights to an HID conversion, many people do not think of the implications to other drivers when putting an ultra-bright headlight modification in their cars. That is why we have come up with an option that works very well for the Fiero, or any car with pop-up sealed beam headlights.

On Tony's car we did the level 2 HID upgrade with OEM style headlight housings in a 6,000K color. The difference between our level 1 and 2 kits is that the level 2 utilizes a xenon bulb on a motorized base so you get the HID function on both high and low beam settings.

The level 1 kit works well but it only allows you to have HID function on one setting, not the other.

Image

Using this housing allows you to keep an OEM look, it is a higher quality housing, and the light output pattern is much more desirable than other styles.

Image

Image

Please notice the output pattern. Our kit does provide a pretty decent cutoff light pattern however not as crisp as a full projector setup:
