Yah for me!
Not that anyone else really cares, but I got promoted yesterday to 1st Lieutenant. Although it's pretty much a 'serve your time and get it' type thing, I'm still pretty excited about it.

Congratulations
Does it include a hefty pay raise to finish your 3 project cars?

Re: Yah for me!
Pretty much the only ways not to make 1st (or Captain for that matter), but I did have to wait about 6 months longer than the other services (Coast Guard included). The Dark Side of Will wrote:Congrats for not fucking any Generals' daughters and not getting a DUI!

Re: Yah for me!
I was looking for an old post of mine and came across this thread. Somewhat funny as I'll be promoting to Captain in two weeks.

You gained an additional grand per month! Damn! Congrats!
Yeah, I recall how excited my sister was at making Lance Corporal before getting out of the Marine Corps.

Thanks. Yeah, it should be close to that a month gross, but we'll see how much actually makes it to my bank account...Atilla the Fun wrote:You gained an additional grand per month! Damn! Congrats!

Re: Yah for me!
I've been here at FE Warren in Cheyenne, WY for about 2.5 years now and still have 1.5-2 years to go. After here, I'm thinking that I'll most likely head back to Vandenberg in Cali to to be an instructor or part of a test program there. The Dark Side of Will wrote:Where are you assigned and what's your next tour looking like?

Re: Yah for me!
4 years? Long ass time at one station. You still polishing missiles?
I might run into you in Vandy-Land if I stay with Orbital on the civilian side.
OTOH, I'm thinking about going back to active duty in the next couple of years... someone in Millington, TN lost their damn mind and gave me an oak leaf.

Yeah, missile ops is always a 4-5 year tour. It sucks. The Dark Side of Will wrote:4 years? Long ass time at one station.

It will be nice to go back to Cali. I hate the weather here and tracks are open all year there. Costs more though.
Congrats to you as well!

You work for Orbital? Small world. I had a chance to check out your rocket-carrying 737 a few years back at Vandenberg. Neat stuff. The Dark Side of Will wrote:4 years? Long ass time at one station. You still polishing missiles?
