I'm a huge fan of the show. I've seen Chief and Starbuck at last years Calgary Expo, that was pretty cool.
I was randomly looking at other Con vids for BSG and came across this video.

And then this one

Then I went to QMX's website and saw the model. The Starbuck one was already sold out but the Adama version was still available so I bought it on the spot. That was November. They are made to order, but there was a huge list in front of me so it took 5 months to get here but it was worth the wait!
Video of mine turning on. Looks so cool IRL.

Not sure how many are left. Mine is 43 of 500 and that was ordered back in November. It came with Husker dog tags, and an Edward James Olmos signed plate of authenticity.
Here is the site for anyone interested. They have lots of cool shit on there.

I don't know how much you like to be paid by the hour but the time and effort that went into this thing is amazing. $2000 isn't much money these days.
Nobody would bat an eyelash at a $2k painting.

I grew up on the original BSG, and have heard nothing but raves from fans of the new series, but haven't watched any of it.
Now if you'd pulled a PT6 turbo-jet out of that box and said "Now I just need a plasma cutter and a source for bulk titanium sheet..."...

Will, I'm pretty sure you will be hooked on it when you get around to watching it. Still the best show I've ever seen.
This will always be worth more than I paid for it. You have to get on a 6 month waiting list, and there are only 500 of each made. I could probably throw it on e-bay and make $500 but I don't want to do that.
If I had the money I'd buy either their Enterprise original NCC-1701 or NCC-1701D. Their prices are a bit lofty but they would be awesome to have in a large display.
If they ever make a large Galactica I might have to sell some shares....

Well, they might bat an eyelash at a $2k painting if it's part of a series of a dozen that are clones -- albeit hand-painted ones, like the original.crzyone wrote:Nobody would bat an eyelash at a $2k painting.
That said, that model is fucking beautiful. If my art budget allowed it I'd love to get something like it, though it'd probably be Star Wars or Star Trek related, since I haven't watched BG yet.
The thruster lighting effects are amazing. Cool little screen too -- I would have never thought of doing that.
if I had one I would probably hang it from my bedroom ceiling and have the thrusters turn on as a night light.
