3.4 TDC/DOHC parts for sale

Prices do NOT include shipping.

I have a complete disassembled 91-93 TDC

I have a pair of 96/97 heads and one '96 (I think... could be '97) cam carrier.

I'm thinking $100 each for cylinder heads. Beyond that, make offers.

Any good Lumina forums on which I could post these items?
Except for the Carillos, if this stuff isn't sold by the end of May, it's going to the scrap yard.

www.w-body.com

I doubt you'll have much luck. The forum is only about half 3.4 guys, and all they do is talk about which cone air filter is best, and give blow jobs to 3800 owners. When I built headers for my Z34 back then, I had the most highly modified Z34 on the board. Not kidding.

Do you have the coolant bypass pipe that goes from the intake throttle body to the water pump inlet manifold? I need one by next week...

I might have one, but I'm not sure when I'll be able to check.

Yeah I found one from a 97, and used it as a template to bend my own out of aluminum pipe.

It looks like the 96-97 did away with the 91-95 system's thermostat-controlled bypass. I don't see any mechanism for blocking of the bypass on the 96-97 LIM when the thermostat is open. However, the pipe on the 97 motor contains a restrictor which reduces the ID down to 8mm or so. The heater return merges into the pipe a few inches downstream.

What was the purpose in getting a new one? Just to make it out of aluminum for weight, was yours leaking, or are you changing your intake manifold setup again?

Don't take this as fact, it's been a long long time since I played with the 3.4. I just drive one on occasion, but have no desire to work on it. Which is a real shame, because the car has great potential. Anyways, I don't believe either one had a controlled bypass, I thought both motors bypassed some coolant 100% of the time.

I do remember that restrictor, although I'm not using that piece anymore. I've got the 96-97 manifolds, but since I have the custom intake arm and throttle body I'm not using a TB warmer. From the TB warmer/heater core port goes a line to my turbocharger, and then to my heater core, and then back to the inlet right before the water pump. From the other port, the factory bypass, goes a line (Without the restictor) to the oil cooler, and then back to inlet before the water pump.

If you look closely at the 91-95 LIM there is a hole that lines up with the back of the thermostat -- the hole becomes closed (fully or partially, I'm not sure) when the thermostat opens.

I needed the line because I eliminated mine when I made my new intake manifold, and I've been having cooling problems at the track, so I wanted to add it back to see if that solves the problems. I've also blown out one or two heater cores..

Haha, I do remember seeing that, and couldn't give you the answer. It's been a long time since I played with my Fiero, a 96-97 for our purposes, but it's been an even longer time since I played with an early version.

I will say this, however. I was not wholly truthful. My coolant pipe does not feed my turbocharger and heater core. Just my turbo, because I took my heater core out. Along with everything else HVAC related. I'd like it back, but that involves work, and I've stopped working on the Fiero sadly.
