BIg Wide Tires will they fit?

I read through that whole Tire thread and it made for some good reading, but what I want to know is,..... How Big can I go before it starts to rub.

I have a set of really nice Beretta Z26 rims in 16" that I want to use so if I use them as my base wheels, how wide and tall can I go. I have always liked wide tires on a car.

Does anyone have any size suggestions?

Those are 16x7? Anything that will fit that wheel will fit in the wheel well.

I'm running 245/50-16's on 16x8 wheels from a Grand Prix. Steven's running 275/40-18's.
I wouldn't recommend running a 245 on a 7 inch wheel, but that's a different matter.

a 245 on a 7 inch rim is going to look awful. The tire will not look right at all. I would not do wider than a 225 if you want it to look halfway decent. Also if you were to do 245 wide, I would go with a 50 series and maybe even a 45. A 60 series tire will be huge with a 245 width on a 16 inch rim.

I was making over 300 crank hp with my turbo setup and was cutting 1.8 and 1.9 60' times with a 225/50/15.

I am actually looking at the Achilles ATR Sport Tires in a 225/55/ZR16 for only $110.00 CDN I had these tires on my G8 GT and I loved them.

If they're not at least 255 then "big" and "wide" don't belong in the title of this thread.

Actually they're 275/35/18, not 40. The rim is an 18x9 (45mm offset).
