So now I'm an engineer working for a contractor in the mission assurance group at NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC).
It's not what I wanted, but it's a grade up and ~30% more than my previous (underpaid) job in the aerospace industry.
Commute's close to 40 miles each way, around some of the most congested roads in the country... Rte 7 in NoVA and over the top of the beltway through MD. I leave the house at 6 AM to beat traffic. I lucked out to some extent, as in the morning the inner loop of the beltway is flowing while the outer loop is slammed, with the opposite being true in the evening. In both cases, I'm on the free-flowing side. Me being on 7 after 4 PM is like feeding a Mogwai after midnight... take any steps necessary to make sure this does not happen. I need to order my EZ-Pass now...
So... let the car building commence! (once I get my first paycheck and pay off some expenses from being unemployed)
