4T60-E Swapped for an 08 4T65-E?

Post by Identity Crisis »

I am installing into my Fiero a 92 3.4DOHC and it has the 4T60-e Transmission.

I have a spare 08 Grand Prix w/NA3800 and the 4T65-E trans.

Is it worthwhile swapping to the newer Transmission?

There are a lot of big changes with that vintage transmission and the 65-e...assuming you get over the hardware issues...axles, perhaps TC and flex-plate (not sure) you still have to use a compatible PCM...definitely not the '92...then there is the wiring harness. Worthwhile? Yeah if it means a lot to you...plus newer transmission hey :Yahoo!: ...

Try to get hold of Ryan (Darthfiero) on the other board; he is the only person I know who will be very conversant about this...lol because more than likely he may have already completed a blue-print or in the process...
Good luck
