DOHC Camshaft Regrinds?

Post by Identity Crisis »

Anyone have a line on a place that will do camshafts or regrind the factory ones for the 3.4DOHC?
Thanks

I had a set reground last year. The only place that would actually do it:

I had to arrange it all over the phone, easy enough and had to send check.

I have complete sets of 1992 DOHC Cams and 1996 DOHC Cams. Do you think it would matter which ones I send to SLC?
Any thoughts on SPECS I should get? I plan to go boosted with this engine.
Thanks BTW Guys.

I don't think it matters, the set I sent in were from a 94 year engine.
talk to him about specs, he has different grinds to choose from. Afterall, he is the expert.

Has anyone ever dynoed a DOHC with reground cams, a proper tune, and proper intake manifold (stock 96-97, or other years with the plenum chopped off)?

I'm familiar with that thread.

Pretty disappointing numbers. I figured those weren't tuned well or had crappy intakes.

Yeah... we have no real idea how the cams were timed or how good the tune was. You made more than that with a blue printed engine, custom intake and stock cams, right? Are you running stock cam timing?

Stock cam timing and stock cams. Just blueprinted stock motor with a custom intake based around the 91-95 parts. Can't really compare directly because the dynos are different, but those numbers are in the same ballpark. 220 whp/220 ft lbs.

400hp from a 3.4L engine isn't exactly spectacular.
