Clay bar for fabrication dust cleanup

Post by pmbrunelle »

So over the last 3 years of my Fiero's engine rebuild, there had been a bunch of cutting/grinding welding going on.

Some of it may have been avoidable had I had a separate room for the dirty fabrication work, but well, I didn't. Also, some work has to be done on the car itself.

Anyway, so a bunch of fabrication dust became embedded in the car's paint. Some of it was orange, as if it was steel that landed on the body, and then rusted in place.

Now that I'm "done" (who am I kidding) generating filth, I figured I should clean the junk off the body.

So not knowing anything about auto detailing, my google-fu led me to the idea of trying a clay bar kit from Meguiar's.

Holy shit it works :Yahoo!:

Maybe this will help someone...
