'85 Rear Hubs - Which Brand and Part # are Reliable?

Post by CaptainHindsight »

Ordered a pair of Moog 513011 hubs from Rockauto for $18ea. Hubs came in a National Bearing box with a Moog sticker on the bottom. Made in Korea. With all the counterfeit bearings from China lately, which brands and part numbers have you found to be reliable?

What year is your car?

I don't think I need to tell you what the operating life of an $18 bearing will be...

Oh you can buy the same part number for >$100 from a few vendors. How long will it last if you pay the extra $90 or more? :)

Obvs it won't be a better bearing if you pay more for it... but a bearing that can be made for $18 won't be a good bearing.

Try it and see? Not difficult to change, so not a big loss at $18.

The only ones known to not break off the flange under track use are the OEM ones. Assuming this is a street driven car?

Street driven. 250hp, 230 lb ft at crank.

Bumping up the brakes, hubs etc is for phase II next year.

Just posted for future reference. Stock OEM hubs used two rows of ball bearings.
