with your spark plug wires

all I have to do is pull the decklid (which is marked so i can put back in place by myself in about 5 minutes)

(with lid in the way)

its even easier to do these plugs than on the stock 2.8, thanks to my mounting method which rocked the engine back towards the trunk about an inch

notch your decklid and you wont' even have to take it off.

I modiefied a dockman front trans mount to lower the universal energy suspension mount about 1/2"

used a matching energy suspension mount on the front engine mount

and used a 1/2" thick dodge truck mount for the rear tranny mount

then I used the stock firewall side mount bracket and welded another bracket to the cradle and used two poly sway bar end links as torque straps

I supprised to didn't figure it out from my intercooler thread

i used to have a pretty thorough build thread up on our local fiero club forum - but it got erased by accident in a purge - i've got a half assed on on Old Europe that i post random updates to from time to time

couldn't notch it enogh - besides it takes me 2 minutes to remove the decklid and 3-5 to put it back on by myself - faster with a helper

I'd rather not cut the decklid

Yeah the intercooler thread would make it pretty obvious...I just didnt put 1 and 1 together....Thanks though ill go look for it.

I've heard that one of the concerns was water getting down the plug bores.

Have you dealt with this at all, and if so, how?

I took the red o-ring off the plug wire housing and filled the top around the wire with silicon rubber so that when I put the housing back together it squeezed out the seems - cleaned it up and put the o-ring back on

we'll see how well this works - the other thing i plan to do is put some sort of weather strip between the decklid and rear window - like

its just a peice of HVAC ductwork expansion joint -- might be able to get some locally from a shop I used to work for

Yah the silicone is the route I was planning on taking, just to seal it at the very top, that will keep most if not all the water out.

I was just wondering if you'd done anything fo rit, or just ignored it, that's all. Probably a wise move not to though.

any concerns on oil return flow or oil level in the pan?
doesnt look like enough angle to make any real difference, but I have heard 3.4 DOHC has oil return issues when held in the upper RPMs for a long time (dont know this for a fact - just respouting what I've read elsewhere)

no concerns there - an inch of movement at the top of the motor doeasn't equate to much of a chance in the angle of the heads or the oil level.. I'm kind of hoping the increased oil capacity with the remote oil filter will help reduce any high rpm oil starvation issues
