Real tech discussion on design, fabrication, testing, development of custom or adapted parts for Pontiac Fieros. Not questions about the power a CAI will give.
Here's the deal. I'm trying to get an ident on my turbine outlet flange so I can get some sort of V-band clamp for the thing, but I'm not sure that that's possible. It has the right angles for a V-band, but the flange itself is too thick I believe. Here's the pics:
Anybody know?
Indy DOHC Turbo SD4.....someday.
Oh, and f*ck the envelope. (RFT Insurgent)
Yeah, it's an OEM journal bearing unit on a Navistar diesel truck motor. I haven't found the exact application yet. I'll probably just call Garrett today.
The exterior doesn't look exactly like the aftermarket GT units, but it has all the same specs inside except it uses a journal bearing instead of ball-bearings.
Just so you know, not all garrett GT series turbos are BB. Just the R ones.

I think you just need a clamp and a flange for your downpipe. Take out a set of calipers, measure and call up a turbo house and order the size you need.
How are you usre its actually a gt35 wheel? I know you bought it on ebay so who knwos what you really got. You hav eno way to verify it.
That thing dwarfs that GN turbo. I think that would haev been a better sized turbo for your 4 banger then that huge thing. I am thinking it might not even spool.
good luck with that project
FieroPhrek working on that ls4 swap for 18 years and counting now. 18 years!!!!! LOL
