Running two head gaskets

Post by Shaun41178(2) »

Ok now I know this is not the proper way to do this at all. That is stacking two head gaskets on top of each other to lower compression. I know using one gasket is the prefered method but of course that would be custom one offs

I dont' care about squish area and all that nonsense. I am not worried about detonation. I know honda guys do this with some success.

I just want to know the liklihood of the gaskets leaking. thinking of using 2 gaskets to lower compression by about a full point.

thoughts?

make sure you use arp head studs and torque it down right or it will def. leak.

www.Cometic.com will make thicker custom gaskets

http://www.engine-parts.com/GMV6/GMV6int.html for arp head studs

Has anyone tried this on a 60 deg. v6 yet? Its common on vws and hondas.

yea I have heard of that company. They would have to do a custom for our v6 as its not listed however their sizes go from .074 and then jumps to .120 which is a big jump. A .120 gasket is pretty thick. It would def lower compression a lot.

I already have the ARP head bolt hardware.
