Matt Hawkins Gt3071R dyno
3.4l DOHC V6 from 1995 Monte Carlo
Ported/polished combustion chambers; good bolts in bottom end; hypereutectic pistons; custom intake manifold; 38 lb/hr injectors; Haltech E6K ECU; custom tubular stainless headers and crossover; GT3071r turbo; Tial 38mm wastegate; Fidenza Al flywheel; Clutchnet six puck sprung hub clutch with stock pressure plate; large Ebay intercooler core with custom end tanks/draw fans mounted under car; I spin the engine to 7k with a 7200 rev limiter.
I hope he doesn't midn me posting this here. I figured he wouldn't join though to do so.
Now previously he dynoed 289whp with his t3/4 46 trim turbo. Switching turbos to a larger Gt turbo netted him about 100 more hp! Just from changing the turbo people. Of course tuning and maybe a thing here or there too, but it shows what just the right turbo can do. And even the 30R is a tad bit small IMO but it sure does make power for sure. Look at that power curve!

Re: Matt Hawkins Gt3071R dyno
looks like if he went to the gt35r that the torque wouldn't drop off at the top end as the 30r starts dropping off the map..Shaun41178(2) wrote:
makes it seem like the dohc on efficient boost can have a flat VE rate from 4K-7K
also amusing - it has 200WHP and 300ftlb at 3500rpm
thats even more low end than a 4 . 9

Get him to swap that powertrain into a Fiero. He'll knock at least half a second off his ET's.product1620 wrote:You should have talked him into buying a Fiero, instead of hoping up the cavaqueer.Aaron wrote:Too much. I've thought about it, but I doubt he'll ever do it. He hasn't even turboed it yet, even though he has all the parts he needs except an intercooler and piping, and all the money he needs. Ever since he got a job at a car repair place, he just won't do shit to his car. Pisses me off a lot.
What's worse his how much of a POS that Cavy is. The tranny grinds into every gear, the grounds SUCK and it has major electrical issues, the dash is all broken, heater vents are all broken, it has more rattles than I thought a car could, etc.
