2.8 no idle

My 87 2.8 won't idle on its own but it will run if you have your foot on the gas. My first thought was the idle air control sensor but I've replaced it with two different spares one of which looked almost new with no luck. I should also add that sometimes it will idle when it is cold and I first start it but if I drive it then come to a stop it will die as soon as I push the clutch in. Any suggestions?

bad timing. cant be fuel as demand is at minimum when idling, therefore your timing is off.

Success! I recently replaced the throttle body with a nicer spare I had, and I think somebody must have messed with the screw that adjusts the blade. I played with it a little and it seems to idle really good now.

It was prolly some caveman that thought he could tune the throttle body just like on his carbed 4.9

Some people try to turn the idle down to the absolute minimum to save gas. I don't know how much difference it actually makes, though.
