Post by donk_316 »

Was going to go dry sump when i was still building a pushrod motor.
Bought this beauty off of Falconer Racing.....uh huh the guys who used to build those slick 750hp 2.5L v6 60 degree motors.

I dont want to use it on a DOHC. I have another route im going. The pan has internal baffles and is plumbed for 2 scavange lines. 1 AN fitting included....cause i stole one for my oil return line....
<put oil pan pic here>
Any questions let me know... Open to offers or trades as per usual.

send me a pic or 14. einfunk <at> Gmail.com

I'm interested.

Also, since I'm TOTALLY USELESS, will I need to get a new oil pump or some such shit to make this work? I have no idea how a dry sump system works.

http://www.razorperformance.com/3stage.htm

Thats a schematic on a complete system

What you cant really see is the stock internal oil pump has been blocked off and now an external unit is used.

Neat. I don't know what it's worth.

Hmm... is it just the pan, or the whole/partial system? If so, how much would it set me back to buy the rest of the gear?

Ok....

Depending on where you shop, Ive been watching ebay for a while now.

3 Stage pump (next to new with drive and belt) 250ish
Oil res (depends on options like heater and if its SS or al) 60-250
various SS lines .....20-150
Oil filter adaptor (word is a SBC one will work fine (60ish)
Cooler if you want

DRY SUMP PAN for a SBC goes for 150-300 USD!!! And thats for a generic one.

Yeah I think its worth ALOT more than 50 bucks because its probably 1 of a few in exsistance that survived the years. But again, its only worth what someone will pay.

Shaun - At the very least im gonna run gen3 caps and fab up a girdle to fit under a modified dohc oil pan if the gen3 pan wont work. But thats on the other dohc, not the dohc coming from aaron.
