Went to the track today!

Post by Chris-Nelson »

I didn't have the opportunity to race myself, but I went to the Sabin drag strip today outside of Fargo, ND.

Saw a shitload of cars run, but I think the fastest one there today was a 10 second 4th-gen supra... :thumbleft:

I'll toss up some pics when I pull them off my camera...

The oddball Supra the CAN hook is just the example that proves that all the others CAN'T. :thumbleft:

This guy had a laptop in his car and he spent about an hour between runs tweaking his setup. It was INSANE!

I'm not sure why I didn't get a pic of this guy's 1/4 time, but he ended the day with a fastest time of 9.89. His first run was a 10.9.

I believe the guy said he had a 150shot of nitrous but to get his 9.8 second run he didn't use it....
The coolest thing about this supra is that it is completely streetable. He drove it there, and drove it home.

Next, the 10 second viper!

I'm not sure what this guy's fastest time was but it was a low 10sec.

Thats because supra guys spend the money and do it right the first time. They make big power and aren't to be messed with unless you are packing serious heat. STarting with a bulletproof bottom end is nice too. 1k whp on a stock bottom end is possible.

That viper turned a 10 second qtr mile with only a 118 trap speed? he must have let off at the end.

The whole thing was pretty funny because the guy told me...

"Yeah, this is my slow one..."

Also at the track there was an early 80's mustang with a 15 inch carb stack sticking out of the hood running mid 10's also.

A purple Volkswagon Golf with "VOLKSPORT" stickers everywhere blew up. The intake manifold separated from the head from some type of a nitrous explosion. It was cool...

he's not he's just claping. That's his thumb sticking up. It's just the loop reversing that makes it look that way.
