How many transmissions did he go through to get tha 1.68 short time?

I have a buddy that has a VR4. He knows the car pretty well I guess just like we know the Fiero. he says the trannies are pretty bulletproof and that the transfer cases had problems untill they got fixed by a recall. Once the recall is done they have no more problems of standing up to large amounts of power. Like 600+ this is coming from him. I tend to beleive him since he knows more about the cars then I do. I would expect him to beleive me if he had a question about a Fiero and I answered it.

This guy has the fastest documented stock turbo VR4/Stealth known. He runs a 12.3 without nitrous. I used to surf 3si often when I was considering buying a stealth, never heard much about weak transmissions? A few topics on how the early transfercases would lock up before the recall.

Yup thats exactly what I was told by my buddy. They would lock up.

After the recall was performed I guess they are pretty bulletproof like a getrag 282
