I had to take a drug test, online personality evaluation, baskround check, and a interview with 2 different people. I really like this job, I make more money on the side, but this is consistent. Only time I got mad was when the manager said he'd give me the day off to go the track, only the go ahead and schedule me and laugh in my face when I asked him again. Trackday got rained out and it rescheduled to my day off, so I made my paper and went to the track.

Well, piss.

I got out of my second interview this morning (with the company VP, no less), and the verdict? Dunno, guess they'll get ahold of me.

AAHHHH... the suspense. Shit, seriously. They better give me a gold star on my chart for the 2 interviews and a month in the process waiting, while being dirt poor, and putting off turning in other applications in hopes of this going through.

Saying that the vast majority of hiring processes I've seen are well under a month, what happens in the strong possibility that I get an offer elsewhere that doesn't match this one for kick ass factor?

Is it common to juggle other jobs around while waiting for your #1 to come through or fall through?

IF that becomes the case, you make a decision and don't look back.
But all you're doing ATM is sitting there with your thumbs up your ass hoping. That's not the way to build a future.

It's common to do what you have to do to be sure you get a job.

Calculated gamble, and I'm betting more on the likelihood of "fail". Truth be told, It won't immediately sink me if I miss this one, though it'll suck. Worth it, to not have to juggle different prospects.

ADD = I don't do multitasking. Or maybe I do multitasking to the extreme of never getting anything done. If i don't make this, I'll be applying to several places that I could give a shit about concurrently.

I have to agree, sometimes you have to make sacrafices to devote enough effort to get what you want. As long as you carefully weigh the pros and cons, and know what the realistic outcome is.
