AkursedX's VW GTI updates, parts and pics
Here's some info on my daily driver.
It's a 2007 Volkswagen GTI Fahrenheit Edition. The Fahrenheit is just a color and trim designation, no performance upgrades over other GTI's.
I have owned it since September and have made a few mods:
-Blacked out tails
-Blacked Out Emblems
-yellow fogs with yellow bulbs
-smoked mirror markers
-Tinted windows
-New South Steering Column Boostguage
-H&R Sport Lowering Springs
-Autotech 25mm rear swaybar
-Sumitomo HTR-Z III's tires
-Unitronic Stage 1.5 93-Octane reflash (Holds at 16psi)
-Forge Diverter Valve
-Eurojet PCV Fix
Here's a few pics I have of it in it's current state:
Upcoming mods are a new intake, downpipe, and upgraded brake pads. That'll probably be about it for now.
I must say it is quite a fun car to drive. It has pretty good power (stock dyno's are around 195whp and ~230whp with my chip). It handles pretty good too. With the tires, springs and swaybar, it is pretty neutral in handling and quite predictable at it's limits.
I'm hoping to to dyno it this month and my VW group has another track day at Grattan the end of August. I can't wait to get it out there and see what it can do.

I will be doing an EVOMS with the dry filter.derangedsheep wrote:Definatly a sweet ride. When you get an intake, do the Evo Motorsports one, we see some good gains with those at work.
Are you coming to Waterfest?
No Waterfest for me this year though. There's going to be pretty good representation from the Michigan Volkswagen Enthusiasts though. We've got some pretty unique rides going too.

I just thought I'd throw in a few update pics. I have added an EVOMS intake, Eurojet PCV fix, Forge diverter valve, and some hawk hp brake pads. I also added some black mirror caps and got the windows tinted.
I got a set of Audi rs4 wheels that I painted black and put some general altimax arctic tires on it for the winter.

Were those the stock rims? They look awfully familiar :thumbleft:God wrote:

I know those camaro rims look similar. The new Ford fusion rims look the same as well. Those wheels won't be on anymore though. I'll be going to these in the summer:

Re: AkursedX's VW GTI! updates, parts and pics
I haven't updated this in a while since I haven't really done much to the car.
I had a boosting issue back in the winter and it turned out the the Forge diverter valve I installed doesn't like cold weather. I switched back to stock and it's running great. During my diagnosing, I also switched over to the Bulletproof Speed Hardware PCV setup. It looks much better than the Eurojet one.
I also switched to new wheels. These are VMR 710's. Hotness.
I plan on upgrading to a 3" downpipe soon and possibly an S3 intercooler.

Re: AkursedX's VW GTI updates, parts and pics
The check engine light came on on my GFs '06 2.0T A4, it was the pcv failing haha. I had always wondered about the "pcv fix" for the 2.0T. Guess the problem is real haha. I was also amazed OBD2 can throw a code for pcv.
Re: AkursedX's VW GTI updates, parts and pics
Take it to the dealer. There is a recall for PCV failures. I'm sure she can get it replaced with the newest version. If she's not running more boost, the most recent version (I forget which revision the are on now) should work ok now.CincinnatiFiero wrote:The check engine light came on on my GFs '06 2.0T A4, it was the pcv failing haha. Re: AkursedX's VW GTI updates, parts and pics
Audicare did it for the $50 deductable, its got a 100k mile CPO'ed warranty, hell yes we take it to the dealer. Though the cincy dealer does free oil changes, this dealer charged $75, so I may be changing the oil next time. Maybe past 100k miles it will see more boost but that's doubtful, shes looking for some rims, some tint, and maybe a lot of HIDs, or selling it and trying to buy the same car in a manual.AkursedX wrote:Take it to the dealer.
