my other car (w41)

Well, back b4 I knew anything about cars, I saw a car like my grand am off in the woods on the side of the road. It only caught my eye because it had a spoiler on it that I thought looked good. So I stopped and checked it out. It was in terrible shape, the interior was deystroyed by mold, the spoiler and body were rusted dented and broken. It was a complete basket case. But I noticed it said w41 on the front bumper, so I went home and used google. I found this page....http://notdadsw41.home.att.net/my_w41.htm


It got me interested, but at that point I had forgotten if it said w40 or w41 (at the time I knew nothing of them). So I went back and checked, and got real excited.

The car had been abandoned at the property it was at by a young kid, who worked with the property owner previously. He had no idea where the kid was, or how to contact him. long story short it took me 6 months or so to find him, but an old adress led me to his mothers work, and I was able to contact him through his mother. I purchased the car for 200 bucks. Keep in mind the body and interior are shot, engine is partly disassembled, and tranny is junk.


I learned how to do my first motor build on a dohc engine. fun fun fun. I also rebuilt the entire tranny including the impossible to find 2nd gear from that year w41, and the input shaft.

I redid the entire interior, and put it all together.

The car cranked and cranked and cranked forever but no fuel. Never got fuel. To this day I havent got it running, its sitting in a barn waiting to have the entire electrical system diagnosed one wire at a time, to find the problem causing no ses or fuel pump turn on. I have spent countless hours with a shop manual and a test light tracing connections and replacing parts, but nothing yet. It could be under the dash, under the hood, or under the chassis.

I ended up getting the fiero and it has possesd me ever since.
once im out of school its gonna get the attention it deserves.
