Can I put these wheels on my Formula?

"Set of 4 wheels and tires, alum. rims came off a grand-am or grand prix. size is P215/60R14"

Can I safely use these on my Formula without issues? Will the offsets be bad? Is 14 too small to fit? I just remember the wheels from my old Fiero didn't fit over the brakes on my Formula.

I need to get some winter wheels, don't want to use my stockers.

They may scrape on the inside because of the higher offset. Besides the offset they're the same as stock 88 coupe wheels. The 88 coupe is exactly the same mechanically as the Formula.

Why did the wheels from your old Fiero not fit? You don't have stock brakes on your Formula? All stock Fiero wheels fit on all stock Fieros, 88 or not.

I have stock brakes, the wheels off the other Fiero were too small to fit over the calipers, they were off an 84. I had wanted to put them on so I could push the formula around back before I had it on the road.

Oh that's right, I forgot 84's were available with 13" rims of some sort.

Yes those 14 " wheels will fit and clear stock 88 brakes.

But maybe not the suspension.

They're grand am wheels. They have a higher offset than the Fiero ones that look otherwise the same.

He has an 88 from what his post said.

Those wheels will infact contact the rear lower strut on a PRE-88, but will clear on an 88.

my 88 coupe has the highoffset 14 wheels, 2 sets, one with summers, one with winters, and both sets of wheels clear just fine.

I had a 88 coupe brought up from NH last summer, that had the highoffset wheels, I drove that around for a little before dissassembly, no wheel clearance problem.

Also my t-top had those wheels on it when I got it, drove that for 2 weeks with those wheels when I got it home, no wheel rubbing issues.

3 88 coupe I have / had, had the high offset 14" wheels with no clearance issues.

FWIW, if you have clearance issues on back, what I did when I ran my set with winter tires on my 87 was took an old pair of rear rotors and cut the hat / rotor off and use the base as a spacer plate so that the wheels cleared on the rear ( of the 87).
