Seriously lucky I don't know where he or she lives...

I have spy boy search and destroy AND AVG antivirus, both great free applications...

So.. I visit this website today. I'm doing some research on Egyptian culture. It takes a minute to load, and my spy bot and AVG GO CRAZY! They block access, and deny changes to my registry, they are working in overdrive.

When I was finally able to close the site, my computers background was a flashing warning sign, that I COULD NOT CHANGE... and a little pop up button in task bar telling me I had to BUY THIS SOFTWARE to remove the virus... OBVIOUSLY the software was designed by the VIRUS DESIGNER!!

Well... some forums... my registry editor, and 2 hours of my life later, I was able to clean my computer of this shit... but... two things...

1. How the fuck did that thing get on my computer?!? Seriously!! I didn't accept anything, didn't hit "yes" to anything, didn't download anything... I just opened a website.

2. I swear to g-d.. if I ever find out who designed that software, and that virus... I am not kidding, I would fucking kill them personally... with my Glock under their chin, and a huge fucking smile on my face...

I am seriously not kidding... they are fucking lucky...

What browser do you use? I prefer to use FireFox, along with the NoScript plugin. In theory it should prevent any of that from happening.

Internet Explorer is susceptible to the so-called Drive By viruses i think.

It blocks all scripts run by a webpage unless you specifically allow them. Actual details on how it works here:

http://noscript.net/

Firefox's Addon Install:

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/722

You might be surprised by just how many scripts are being run in the background on some pages. Some websites are littered with ad-content monitoring scripts. For example, JCWhitney has 6 websites, other than JCWhitney.com, running scripts on their page.

I've been running no-script for a while now. Its a pita sometimes to unblock the new webpages, but after a while you get used to what should be allowed and what you should keep blocked.

Quit looking at German Dungeon porn sites, or get a Mac.
