Has anyone used the DuPont wheel cleaner with teflon in it? It is supposed to help slow future build-up, or so they say. Is there anything that effectively coats the rims to slow buildup of brake dust? I cannot clean the rims on my RX fast enough or on the GFs A4.

Yes, a good 5spd will prevent brake dust.

Who makes a 5speed with awd provisions that will fit a 3MZ-FE bellhousing? I wonder if the alltrac celica one with old 3S-GTE is the same. Ah, to dream.

What is a 3MZ and what is it in? Are you talking about a Vibe/Matrix?

Toyota seems to do things pretty sensibly, so the bellhousings just *might* be the same.

Brake dust drives me crazy, so if anyone knows something that works besides not driving or a manual, LMK. :la:

Its a Lexus RX330. 3MZ-FE is the 3.3L DOHC V6. I was kidding, I am not going to make my RX a stick, there is no point at all. I am buying a new car next year sometime and I'll just get a stick then.

Lucky, does it help slow buildup? My RX isn't that bad but the A4... jesus, I am about to have her get them powder coated gunmetal, its that bad.

The Aisin AR5 used in Solstice/Sky and Colorado/Canyon/Hummer is related to the Toyota R series transmissions which were available in both RWD and 4WD.

I put NuFinish on the wheels on my GTI. The dust didn't seem to collect as fast as before, and when it did, a quick blast with the garden hose took it all off.

Will my RX uses a FWD type transaxle, like an evo or 6000ste.

The wheel wax doesn't slow build up, it makes the wheels uber easy to clean though.

My favorite wheel cleaner is Eagle One Etching Mag Wheel Cleaner. I didn't know my rims were painted (previous car) till this shit took the paint off.

Well I bought her this stuff called "No More Dust" wheel cleaner. Says designed to break down brake dust as well as coat the wheels to slow buildup and make future cleaning easier. It was the only product designed for it, so we'll give it a try.

Sounds like you could use a different compount brake pad. Whatever is on there seems to be really dusty.

Its her car, its underwarranty, I don't touch it. Its in the shop right now getting the pads looked at (for the 4th time). If I owned it it would have some nice gunmetal RS4 rims and S4 brakes with aftermarket rotors and pads. But its not my car. All I can do is help her clean it. My Lexus isn't nearly as bad, its just a bit annoying at times.

Should have gone with the magnetoresistive eddy current braking system. :la:
