ECM Questions

I sold a 1987 Fiero ECM for a Tech4 Automatic car. It came out of my 3800SC car. Sold it to a guy on ebay. He says it does not fit his 1986. What gives? Any reason it would not work?

87 and 88 went to DIS ignition whereas the earlier years used distributors.

Probably not swappable. Technically it should fit as they are all the same size, but I don't think it would run the motor.

Totally forgot about that.

Well I listed the factory number on the ECM, the year, the motor, and the trans, his problem not mine, but he'll probably hit me with a neg. Sweet!

Don't forget the 87/88 4cyl ecm tray is different from the others.

Guy was cool, said it was his fault and he'd give me the positive anyways. I offered to refund him his money but he said he is just going to hold onto it. So it all ended well I guess.

Thats good to hear... I've only been dealing with idiots and assholes on Ebay lately... Glad that there are SOME decent people left in the world.
