Have chance to get another Fiero

I am able to get another '88 Fiero GT and I was wondering what you guys would think. This Fiero has the 3800 series 1 engine from a '95 Buick hooked up with the 4t60 4 speed automatic if I remember correctly. I was wondering if it would be worth it to buy it and possibly put a 3800sc in it , or just hook a turbo up to this and be ok. If I recall, the 4t60 is rated for 300hp, correct? Would it be able to handle more? I just wanted to see your input and experience with automatics would be. The only thing is, if I get this one, I'll probably sell my '88 GT manual 5speed to a friend(not enough room here). I would be using one of these for autocross, drag, and daily driver. Would you stick with the manual, or go with the auto? Thanx for your info.
