3800 Turbo vs C6 Z06

The owner of the Vette came up to me after my first pass totally amazed that my car could run so quick. He was a nice enough guy and we planned on running against each other later.

His car is a stock '08 Corvette Z06. He claims his PB is an 11.7x. His best for the day was a 12.0x@123.xmph. His launches were far from great.

My car was running ok. My best of the day was an 11.82@119mph. I did trap over 120mph though with my best being a 120.6mph on my final run.

As for the race. I still have problems holding any boost at the line so my 60ft wasn't all to great (This run was my worst run of the day) plus the vette driver got the jump on me. I don't know if he spun bad or missed a shift but I pulled about 2 cars on him real quick. We pretty much stayed that far apart for the entire race. I even covered the back 1/8th a touch quicker than he did!

The final result was Fiero:
R/T- .814
60ft- 2.022
1/8- 7.929@99.64mph

1/4- 11.965@120.41mph

Vette:
R/T- .577
60ft- 2.508 (Ouch!)
1/8- 8.661@96.38mph

1/4- 12.710@121.38mph

It was far from a perfect race situation but it was still cool to put a whoopin on a Z06 :D From what I see, stock Z06's run between 11.5 and 11.7 and trap between 123 and 126mph.

The weather was hot a humid. My IAT's were above 90*. This run was done on 16psi.

Great job, man.
You can knock .2-.3 out of your 60' *EASILY*.

The Vette's time just goes to show how important skill is, especially with a stick. Somebody's put a box stock, paper air filter, factory-air-in-the-tires ZO6 into the 10's with perfect conditions and perfect driving.

Your car is easy 11.5's if you get that 60 Ft. Sorted.

Nice work.

look up ranger Z06 on google. .. High 10's on DR's and a stock Z06...not the norm, but cool.

not throw the bottle on that whore.... be a man. didn't you hear?? 10's are the new 11's

New brake pads were ordered today (Tirerack has '88 pads on close out for $22 a set!). I'm going to order new rotors too. I'm at least going to do some Eradispeed 2-piece rotors for the front and if I get some overtime, for the rear as well. This should help with the 60ft.

I think the 11.5 range is going to be it for this car once everything is sorted out. Sure I could turn up the boost some more, but I really don't want to. I prefer having a 8/10 limit reliable car than a 10/10 car that I have to be nervous about blowing up. I would like to knock out a ~123mph trap one time though....

I'm not sure when I'll be out at the track again, but I'm sure I'll have more crappy-quality video to show.
