Thats a pretty impressive time for a stock 3400, which Im no expert on the various 60 degree v6's but wasnt that stock a 210 or so hp motor? Somewhere around 180-190 whp maybe? Not to shabby a time at all.

I've met this guy, the car used to be a good friend of mine's. I was at the dyno when he dynoed that car. It put down shockingly good numbers. I swear somewhere "chuck" on this forum or "joshua riedl" on piffle posted what this car put down for power somewhere but i think it was like 189 or something like that. Not bad for a 3400 with exhaust intake and a mail order tune.

stock 3400's were rated anywhere between 175-185 crank hp pending on the application they came in.

I want to say the minivans had the 185 horse motor and the grand am was rated at 175

I am just a friend of chuck I'm just using his name rite now to respond to all this camaradarie. He is the person who built this car and has done a great job at that, being all of you dont believe the numbers I put up I have nothing to prove. The only thing I have had done to this car is had it painted and some small body work. I was told the motor is a stock 3400 the car runs great and have only had problems with the trans and the spec clutch. I am not sure the exact weight of it. All I no it is the funnest car I have ever driven and it looks sweet to me. I will be putting in the garage for the winter to put some headers , cam transmission and clutch and am looking for some Ideas for the cam if anyone has some good ideas as what to use. As for the time I put up it does not matter to me what the time is just as long as I beat the car that is next to me whether its a alot or a little. Where I come from time dont matter only the car out front is the best. I hope to have some times for you next year and weight and what ever else it is for the people that dont believe my time. The fact of the matter is the people that dont believe me wont believe unless I line up next to them and come out in front. Hope to have some possitive feedback and some Ideas to improve upon.

Matt, no one is doubting you. I was there for the dyno runs and have seen the car run and get dynoed, raced against it in my car several times, and have even driven it before u bought it. The car is quick for sure. I remember racing it when my car was still na and i was running 13.5's. I couldnt get outta the hole as fast as it but caught it on the big end slightly. Quick car man hope to see u around again!

Turbo FTW.

Nice times man. I would say that you probably have the 'driver mod' upgrade.

Your ET is reasonable for your trap speed, your trap speed is reasonable for your power number and your power number is reasonable for your engine. No reason to doubt any of that.

We were going on about you being faster than the V8 cars to show how crappy the V8 cars are, not to doubt you. It's obvious from the numbers that your car is very well sorted, unlike the others listed.

What's wrong with your transmission?

IF Xthumper X ran a low 14 with his , I have no doubt mid 13's is attainable stock.

didn't one of archies 6spd LS1 cars recently run a high 13?

I have been thinking of putting a 3400 into the $2009 Fiero because it's very cheap at the junkyards and is one of the best engines that can swap in with almost entirely stock parts (flywheel, mounts, accessories, etc.). I have wondered what a well sorted version would be capable of, and this is just what I needed to hear. I think that with the 3400 in the rear, healthy batteries for the motor up front, more aggressive weight reduction, and not-horrible tires I can get my car into the high 12s and only have another $200-300 invested into the powertrain.

Thanks for the inspiration. If anybody has more info on the swap (pictures, details on the swap, etc.) I'd be interested to learn more.

I put down 220 at the wheels with my 3.4 DOHC and I don't think I can run that fast.

You all will have to look for me tomarrow the name will be hott-snott I'm just waiting for the adminisrator to email me back so I can stop using josh's. To answer the questions in the mean time the tranny I am not able to put in 5th or reverse with the shifter but I can by hand on the tranny itself. I would like to know more about putting a turbo on it or even supercharger I do have a supercharger sitting around not being used that I am wondering if I should even attemt to try to. I'm real hesitant at doing anything because it runs so well now and who knows when It will ever see the road once I start a project like that. I kinda got my plate full next summer for the truck pulling season and I'm lazy. i was wandering what people use for axles I've had to replace mine 3 times in the last 2 years.
