Doesn't bore and stroke have something to do about torque as well, if you think about it, a longer stroke engine has more leverage on the crankshaft (connecting rod center is further away from the center of the crank), sure the piston has to move further, but it takes less force to make the same flywheel torque, but since the piston has to move further, it cant rev as high as say, a larger bore, shorter stroke motor.
Heavy apps are all about profit, not fun. D-Max is a fun diesel, not a profit diesel like the Cummins. The Cummins is for work, the D-Max is for play. I'm here to play. If I wanted to profit from a diesel, I'd drive a big rig for a living.

Here's the perfect app for a 2JZ or RB26DETT, or even a 6BT, on the salt:

Inline 6's are smoother than V6's. It may not seem like much, but over hundreds of thousands of miles a year, it adds up. Even if it only matters in driver fatigue.

It's easier to plumb the turbos on an I6, also.

I might do an engine swap on a 308, but not one of those (I guessed a 250 Barchetta and then looked at the file name...). The car has a 2 litre V12 stock. It would collapse if you tried to put a 6BT in it. It would bend the control arms before you could put enough spring in it to keep it off the bump stops.

Well since the originals are in the millions of dollars, to do one for the salt would be a fiberglass phony on a tube frame. But it is narrow, with less frontal area than a Miata. It should be possible to get a V6-90 in there, but why try?

I asked nicely, stay the hell out of my thread. In fact, do us all a favor and leave CrazyOne alone, and stay the hell out of RFT, forever.

Mercedes Diesel running 10.6, not too shabby. Hes running the 3.0L DOHC, I've got a 3.0L SOHC but I'd be lying if I didn't tell you I've got a 3.0L DOHC motor sitting in the back of the warehouse
