If my calculations are correct, the only driver with enough points to take 1st from me is Pete. 5 weeks til the showdown. It's gonna be close, and it's gonna be fun!

You need more power. I'll call the Arch for an all-iron small block Chevy that will dyno 200 at teh wheels.

Can he also make me a sweet fiberglass front end extension so that I can use my stock transaxle and retain FWD? The front of the car is going to need to be about 2 feet longer.

Subaru never offered a manual transmission with the H6 ==> not a legal swap

Otherwise I would've bought one :)

Hehe... Kalifornia strikes again.

The horizontally opposed engines are interesting, but to see the way he had to install the piston pins in that 6 makes me want never to touch one.

Subaru, like Audi and BMW, is strongly incentivised by their powertrain configuration to keep the bores and bore centers as small as possible, so a big bore, performance oriented 6 from Subaru is unlikely. My understanding is that the 6 has a significantly smaller bore than the EJ25.

Subara has had 3.6 liter 6s before, which is pretty decent. All of this talk is fairly worthless though, as unless he can trick the judge into not noticing, he can't do much to the motor.

I meant the smog inspector guy, who might notice a turbo hanging off each bank.

California Rally Series Rallycross standings just got updated. I'm running in 3rd place 35 points behind the leader. The next and final event is shared with the Porterfield Glen Helen Rallycross series. 1st place in both championships is maybe doable if I win the next event by a large margin over the currrent CRSR leaders. It's not so likely. But if they don't show up........

Well, the the current California Rally Series Rallycross leaders aren't signed up for tomorrow, so taking both championships is now a possibility for me.

Practice went well today... Got rained out mid-day when the course got too flooded to run cars on it. At least I managed to get all my runs in first!

Before it got flooded the course was awesome. If things dry out a bit some good speed should be possible. Everything flowed together really well too. The rain is supposed to stop today so things should dry up enough to be workable tomorrow.

The Sheriff closed the entry road due to a big river of mud washing across it. What better way to end a day of rallycross than an unplanned water crossing? Here's a video of the mess: youtu.be/mOZ9_7aALQQ

Tomorrow is looking good... today I think I was setting FTD repeatedly and 5 seconds ahead of the next fastest guy --- that includes modified AWD class (i.e. unlimited). I love these tires!! If it stays wet, and the car stays in one piece, tomorrow should go well.

Video from one of my practice runs today: http://youtu.be/uH4p6eOaFQ4
Watch fullscreen in HD!

One more practice run video from today. This was my last run. As you can see the middle of the course was completely flooded with water: http://youtu.be/D3L0ztH4XO8

I won the Glen Helen RallyCross Championship Season! In a mechanically stock, naturally aspirated ~100 whp 3500 lb pig of a wagon :-). These Grabber AT2 tires sure worked great in the mud.

Surely it's got more than 100whp!

But congratulations, goes to show how important the driver is. But an extra 300whp wouldn't hurt!

This drivetrain (EJ251, manual trans) usually dynos 100 to 110 awhp, stock... And mine has 188k miles on it without any rebuilds.

Stock dyno graphs from a Dyno Dynamics dyno here: http://www.submariner.org/thepno95/Pict ... 20runs.jpg
Mine is the "SOHC". This was from a 2000 or 2001 2.5RS. Source is this post on NASIOC.
