Fiero with no trunk light

Post by befarrer »

Has anybody ever seen a Fiero with no rear trunk light? There is an 85 2M4 at the wreckers here which just has a grey plastic version of the clear lens on a Fiero with the trunk light. The grey one is identical, but obviously non transparent, it is not painted, I checked for wiring, and there is none anywhere in the trunk for the light. Wierd, I thought the trunk light was standard.

I know that several of the earlier carpets didn't even have the carpet cutout.

My '87 had the filler panel. My 88 has the light. My early 84 doesn't have the cut out

I recently pulled one of those gray blank plates from a Fiero in a salvage yard, so I could delete my trunk light. The clear plastic lens gets brittle with age, which results in the mounting tab snapping off, so your trunk light ends up hanging loose. And that's an electrical short waiting to happen.
