Car has been delivered to my dad's house. Unfortunately, I'm in Gulfport, MS for Navy duty through the end of next week.
Also still need to grab the engine.

Those manifolds are begging to be put on eBay in favor of turbochargers.

Like these?

Do you mind if I get it running and driving first?

That's a "358"... 308 with 355 powertrain.

At this point, I'd like to snag the 3.6 litre engine from the 360 with the 6 speed transaxle from the 355, sleeve the block out to 89mm more (3.9 litres with the 79mm crank from the 360) and turbo that... 8500 RPM and 900 HP.
The 360's transaxle won't fit in the 308 body... too much distance from the mounting surface to the axle CL.

I was thinking snails hanging right off the side of the block. Something like this

Realistically, 2 T-3 sized turbos making 500-600hp would be plenty. 500whp in my GTR feels like a rocket ship.

Have you seen the *ORIGINAL* "The Fast and the Furious"? It is a black and white movie from the '40's or '50's and ends racing a Jaguar roadster through Mexico.

Never seen it, but not sure how well it would hold up today. Oldest car movies I like are movies like Cannonball run and Smokey and the Bandit. Huge fan of The Dukes Of Hazard as well.

This is heavier than I expected, but not totally unexpected.

The transmission is MUCH larger than it looks in this photo. It's probably immensely strong. I wouldn't be surprised at all if it weighs 200 lbs.

Less 200 for the transmission and 35 for the palet leaves 460 for a complete engine. That's not bad for a *fully dressed* DOHC V8, but not exceptional either. Ferrari needs to step up to nylon intake manifolds like GM and BMW.

Also took some upskirt photos of a Mondial T:

The crossmember configuration is different than it is for the 308 body, but that's not such a big deal. I can cut out the existing crossmembers and weld in new ones in the Mondial/348 locations. The fact that the one under the engine bolts in even allows the oil pan to be dropped with the engine in car. That's more thought toward maintenance than goes into a heck of a lot of cars on the market.

Lol... If you want one, build it!

I just heard a saying in the Ferrari community over the weekend: "If you want a faster Ferrari, buy one". Meaning that they are always improving the breed. Obviously, simply having the car is not why I took on this project.
