I'm running the Shelby Aurora computer on my car. It's a MAF based system, so you have to use the '96+ cable throttle body. Any shop with HPTuners can tune it.
Contact Sinister Fiero on this forum.

NINJA EDIT: The above only works on '99 and older engines. If you have a Y2K or newer, you'll need something else.

I have a 95 N*. So what i have gotten so far is dont use the stock computer, but rather use the 7730 or one from this sinister fellow.
Can some explain to me why a v6 cavalier computer is better then the stock one?

The stock OBDI computer is mostly untunable. I have a chip for it to run without automatic, but it's still a bit rich and stalls when you clutch on overrun.

The 7730 is tunable, even though it's batch fire. However, dyno shops that still deal with OBDI GM hardware are getting pretty hard to find.

The Shelby setup is OBDII, and any shop with HP tuners that can tune an LS1 can tune that computer.

I sent Ryan Gick (Sinister) an email.

Now I did a google search for Shelby Aurora computer but came up with nothing. Any links to this?

The car it was in was called the Shelby Series 1. That may help with your search.

Thanks for the read. A very interesting car for sure.

So am I correct to assume that the factory computer is used and not some other computer in a N* swap then?

It uses the 09354896 PCM, which is the same one used in LS1 Corvettes, Camaros/Firebirds and trucks. It should cost no more than $50 from a junkyard.

EDIT: "It" = Shelby engine management.

Well I have the whole 95 STS so the cars computer will be there too.

So good I can use the factory 95 Computer then. Just getting mentally prepped for when I start to do the wiring. I did this too when I installed an L67 into an older 96 Grand Prix.

You can't use the factory Cadillac computer with the Shelby code. You need an LS1 computer. The LS1 computer is the same as what was used in the Shelby.

He can use the OBDI computer... He can use the same chip I have.
Also, that computer may be more tunable now than it was a few years ago.

Ok now it is getting more clear.

In order to use the Shelby code which I can with my N* I need an LS1 Computer(ECM)
I can use the stock computer which should be OBD1, which will mean that I need to burn a chip and physically install it.
I can use the GM 7730 ECM if I wanted to.

Does all of this sound right?

Options:

1) LS1 computer with Shelby code

2) 7730 with modified $A1 code mask... I'm not sure where his final .bin is available, but member "whipped" on this forum set his up this way. The .bin file is the information which gets burned into the chip to install in the computer

3) Stock Cadillac computer (PN 16197429) with the manual transmission chip

4) Aftermarket management... sky's the limit

Also, what transmission are you using? With the 4T80E automatic, your options are more limited. IE, either the stock computer OR Sinister *MIGHT* be able to set up a custom calibration with the Shelby engine side and 4T80E transmission side.
